Prep Dig scouted the squad during the Sunflower AM Wave in Lawrence on February 18.
Here is the second scouting report from the action in Lawrence.
Kenlye Carlson, 5’6”, L, Ottawa, ‘25
Carlson is a defender who is not afraid to get her knees scraped up. She was all over the court in the Midwest Juniors ‘ first match of the day against Club Fusion. The Ottawa product finished with seven digs and five serve receptions. Carlson did not see much varsity action as a sophomore and will look to have a larger impact in the 2023 season.
Abigail Toumberlin, 5’6”, RS, Ottawa, ‘25
Toumberlin, who also plays softball, is athletic for certain. She finished with four kills in the two-set split against Club Fusion. She has an athletic frame and Community College coaches should give her a look over the next couple of years.
Mallory Harter, 5’5”, S, Wellsville, ‘25
Harter is a solid passer who also plays good defense. She finished with six digs in the early match. She has an accurate and powerful serve and is a good floor leader.
Kennedy Zans, 5’10”, MH, De Soto, ‘25
Zans is young and raw, but she has solid size and still plenty of time to develop her game. She led the Midwest Juniors with four blocks and was tied with four kills. She is also a gifted softball player.
Meredith Swank, 5’11”, MH, West Franklin, ‘25
Swank has one special element no one can coach, size. The West Franklin product had three kills and two blocks for the Midwest Juniors . West Franklin had a 31-5 team in 2022 and Swank will look to move up the Eagles’ roster.
