Caroline Hilbrich Caroline Hilbrich 5'9" | OH Floyd Central | 2023 State IN , 5-9 OH/DS, Union
This southern Indiana kid has all of the tools to be either an indoor or an outdoor player at a high level. She can be your six-rotation “control” outside, a primary passing outside, an attacker for three rotations, a defender for three rotations, or even a libero for those in need. Her ball-control-first mentality is evident with the number of USA Beach events she’s already played in the past few years, finishing in the top five a few times. I’m finding it hard to believe that Caroline is still available, what with all of the skill that she brings to the table.
Faith Burch Faith Burch 5'10" | RS Roncalli | 2023 State IN , 5-10 RS/S, Rev
This lefty banger has All-State accolades to go with the large number of first place trophies on her mantle from years of club tournament victories. I like her ability to set in a pinch, too, and being left handed certainly doesn’t hurt. Her attack touch is almost at ten feet, if not already there. For me, this is yet another athlete who hasn’t received enough accolades or notice in her junior and senior seasons in high school, even though she’s more than earned them.
Sydney Robinson Sydney Robinson 5'8" | OH Brebeuf | 2023 State IN , 5-8 OH, Munciana
One of two state champs on this list, Sydney is a high-flying and athletic outside that can terminate from anywhere. Her defense and serve receive are above average for her position, and has been everything from the role player on high level club teams to the workhorse for a high school state title winner. All of this athleticism, speed and strength and nowhere to go? You can’t tell me that no one needs a quick-twitch outside that understands high-level volleyball.
Ava Lohman Ava Lohman 5'9" | OH Hamilton Southeastern | 2023 State IN , 5-9 OH, Rev
Another Rev pin player who can jump and has a whip of an arm—sound familiar? Winning a state title this past fall sure was nice, but she was buried on the depth chart behind a few over-six-footers in high school. All that tells me is that her shoulder and her legs are fresh, and has all the skill in the world to make a difference somewhere in the fall.
Brynn Zastrow Brynn Zastrow 5'5" | DS/L Fishers | 2023 State IN , 5-6 DS/L, Academy
As a three-rotation DS this past weekend at the Triple Crown tourney in Kansas City, Brynn more than held her own in serve receive and defense against the nation’s best competition. She’s played nothing but high-level high school and college ball for years, and knows the grind and work ethic needed to sustain that level of play. Everyone needs a passer. The best part about this passer is that she’s a plug-and-play option RIGHT NOW for any school that needs a defender in any of the three back row positions.
