Scrappy Kansas Corps Looking For Offers
Seven players on the MAVS KC 17-2 play in Kansas High Schools. All seven are still uncommitted and hoping to continue their volleyball careers collegiately. Here are three players from that group who stood out while Prep Dig Scouts were in attendance.
Keliah Rivers, 5’10” OH, Spring Hill, ‘24
Rivers was very impressive in the MAVS victory. She had five kills and two digs. She has solid timing and worked well with both setters who saw action. A solid defensive player, she could play six rotations. Rivers plays for Spring Hill, so she is used to playing on winning teams and practicing against top-level talent. In her junior season, Rivers finished second on the Spring Hill squad with 275 kills. She projects as a Division II or NAIA-level player.
Tabor Scanlon, 5’5”, S, Lansing, ‘24
Scanlon can flat-out put the ball where it needs to be. She is a sparkplug player and has a solid serve. She had seven assists and three digs against Dynasty ‘ last=”] 17-2. What she lacks in height she makes up for in communication and spunk. She also plays for Lansing High School which is a perennial state contender in Class 5A. In translation, Scanlon knows what it takes to win. She finished with 893 assists in her junior season. Community College programs in Kansas should give this young lady a look.
Elise Hmielewski Elise Hmielewski 5'11" | MB Gardner-Edgerton | 2024 State KS , 5’10”, RS, Gardner-Edgerton, ‘24
If Elise Hmielewski Elise Hmielewski 5'11" | MB Gardner-Edgerton | 2024 State KS were three inches taller, she would have numerous sets of eyes on her. This right-side hitter has a sweet swing, can jump, and played well with Scanlon at setter. She collected six kills in the mid-morning match. She will be leaned on in her senior year if Gardner-Edgerton is to improve on a 14-20 record in Class 6A.
