Prep Dig Kansas scouted Shockwave’s first match of the tournament, a 25-10, 25-19 victory over Code Blue 17 Shock out of Oklahoma.
Here is the second scouting report from 17s’ Combined play from the Keeper of the Plains Classic played at Wichita Hoops in Bel Air.
Kat Ross, 5’19”, OH, Northwest (Wichita), ‘24
Ross played like she knew someone was watching her. He finished the match with seven kills, two digs, and three service aces. She is a very physical player and can jump. She looks like a Division II product, so MIAA coaches should be on the lookout. Northwest High School produces solid volleyball talent and Ross could be next in line.
Rilynn Ranger, 5’5”, DS, Maize, ‘24
Ranger has an infectious attitude on the floor and you can tell her teammates respect her leadership. She had eight serve receptions and five digs in the Shockwave’s first win of the tournament. She could also easily play libero. She doesn’t play for her club team as a Libero, because they already have a solid libero. NAIA and Community College coaches should give Ranger a look.
Ros Harms, 5’5” L, Hutchison, ‘24
The Hutchinson Salthawks and Shockwave Clube have a talented libero in Ros Harma. She had 11 digs and three serve receptions against Code Blue 17. She is quick and has a solid passing technique.
Abby Farr, 5’9”. MH, Eisenhower (Goddard), ‘24
Abby Farr could go far with her talent. She had five kills for Shockwave against Code Blue. She projects as a front-row player only. During her junior season, she had 164 kills and 27 blocks for the Eisenhower Tigers.
Two other players to watch are Maize’s Addi McMahon and Wichita Southeast’s Rylie Malget Rylie Malget 5'11" | MB Wichita Southeast | 2025 State KS .
