The second team to highlight for our SKEVA series, 17 Blue has some really great athletes from the state of Kentucky. Here are four players that contribute to their success.

[player_tooltip player_id='107404' first='Sloan' last='Coursey']- Logan County's star junior setter, [player_tooltip player_id='107404' first='Sloan' last='Coursey'], is 17 Blue's quarterback. For the Lady Cougars in school ball, Coursey racked up 1,239 assists and led the team in service aces with 109. Coursey's hands are different than what you're used to because she holds the ball a little longer than most. However, she's consistent with a quick tempo to the outside and effectively runs a fast offense. Plus, she can serve a great floater or change it up with a jump top spin. Coursey has a great attitude and will be a huge asset to this squad.

Halleigh House- A defensive specialist from Greenwood High School, Halleigh House will be a stud for this 17 Blue team. House gathered 224 digs for the Greenwood Gators and did it the whole time with a smile on her face. I had the chance to coach Halleigh House at WKU Elite camp, and she was one of the most coachable kids at the camp. She was willing to do anything you asked her to and wanted every little piece of advice you could give her. Any athlete like that is going places on and off the court!

Hester Wallace- From a little school in Tennessee called East Robertson, Hester Wallace will be the heart and soul of this squad. Wallace plays with this inspiring energy and never fails to bring a positive yet competitive attitude to the court. Hitting from the outside or right side, Wallace brings all she can and swings with huge power. Wallace is that kid that makes your whole team laugh during a timeout when you need good energy, but she can also switch it to the "let's go win this thing" mentality. A fun kid to watch always, Hester Wallace will put on a show this year for 17 Blue.

[player_tooltip player_id='107403' first='Whitney' last='Christian']- Lastly, an attacker from Logan County High School, [player_tooltip player_id='107403' first='Whitney' last='Christian'] provides great depth for this 17 Blue team. Christian was a middle, right side, and even an outside hitter for the Lady Cougars this past year. Having the versatility to hit from every position is very rare because most kids like to be specialized, but one of Christian's talents is not being picky and swinging at the ball wherever she is. She finished second on the team in kills with 287 for Logan County, and I bet Christian will continue this effective hitting energy over into club ball. It'll be interesting to see what position she plays, but from anywhere, Christian will be one of the best on this squad.
