Let’s take a look at some of the standout middle blockers from Triple Crown.
Reese Robins – Drive Nation (Louisville)
What better way to end an epic run at Triple Crown than with an overpass smash, courtesy of Reese Robins? From start to finish, Robins was one the hunt for the title and came out victorious.
Julia Hunt – NKYVC (Washington)
Another big time middle that anchored her team to a championship, Julia Hunt was fierce! I am not sure if many had predicted NKYVC to go the distance in this one, but behind the prowess and domination of Hunt, there was no denying this team.
Bayleigh Minor – Houston Skyline
The 16 Elite Championship was a real fun brawl to watch. With big physical attackers on both sides like that of Bayleigh Minor, it was a slugfest. Minor was major across the net with her blocking prowess and quick swing.
Kalyssa Blackshear – Surfside
Across from Minor came Surfside’s very own, Kalyssa Blackshear. A high flying, dynamo in the middle, Blackshear was hard to contain once in flight. The constant threat of Blackshear in the middle payed off huge in Surfside’s championship in the 16 Elite.
Kayla Nwabueze – Legacy
This is a name that you need to put at the top of your scouting report! Regardless, no matter how well you scout Kayla Nwabueze, you still can’t slow her down. An absolute bully at the net, Nwabueze is a total slugger with a great eye for the block.
Alia Schoonover – Mintonette
These up-and-coming middle blockers are no joke, you do not want to mess with them. Alia Schoonover is another name to keep high on your scouting report. Schoonover can bring the heat anywhere along the net and it only adds to the trouble she creates.
Kinsley Young – TAV
TAV couldn’t get the ball to this middle enough this weekend, she was just too good! I got to catch a peak of Kinsley Young during her Monday match against Legacy and she was unstoppable. A workhorse on the block and always available in transition, she was top tier.
