We were super excited to run our Sunshine Classic Showcase in conjunction with the Sunshine Classic National Qualifier in Orlando, FL on Friday, February 24th. We had some of the best players from many states attend. Many players stood out to our court coaches and scouts throughout the entire showcase for a variety of reasons. Some players stood out for their dynamic physical skills and some stood out for intangibles like leadership, effort and attitude. Let’s meet a few of the players who earned the honor of Top Performer at the Sunshine Showcase.
Audrey St. Clair [2026] 5-8 Libero (HS: Rockwall/Club: 1United /Verbal: Uncommitted)
Audrey is an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but is on our watch list now with what I saw at the showcase. She plays for Rockwall High School and also plays club for the newly formed 1United program. While everyone is looking at who the unstoppable hard attackers are and giving them all of the glory, I love to really watch liberos and understand what separates them from good to great. When I was watching Audrey compete in both the individual positional drills and the team scrimmages, I noticed that she truly understands the game on a very high level. Her volleyball IQ is off the charts and she is very focused on the task at hand. Court awareness is key to playing the position at a very high level and she does this perfectly. Her eyes are always on the ball and she can anticipate where it is going so she can set up perfectly to play the ball well. She has great balance in her footwork while moving to the ball and also at contact as well. This is particularly noticeable when she is moving to the ball during serve receive. Whoever coached this young lady knew what they were doing and she has done a masterful job in retaining the information and applying it consistently. She is someone who I will be watching very closely moving forward in her volleyball journey.
Londyn Pope Londyn Pope 6'2" | MB V.R. Eaton | 2027 TX [2027] 6-0 Middle (HS: Cane Bay/Club: SC Elite/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Londyn is an unranked prospect in the 2027 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings, but that is because we don’t cover the South Carolina state just yet. She plays at Cane Bay High School and also the newly formed 1United volleyball club. Miss Pope was one of the most aggressive and intimidating middles in the entire showcase due to her size and power. She used it so well at the net in both the offensive and defensive drills. I loved how willing she was to be a volunteer in our demonstrations of the drills also. For a freshman to be that willing to showcase her abilities in front of the entire gym says a lot about her attitude and desire to be coached. She did not disappoint during the positional drills as she wowed her court coach numerous times. They called me over to watch for some specifics about her and nominated her for the Top Performer award. During the scrimmages I thought she played lights out. Her strength is shown well on the blocking end as she formed a beautiful wall for the hitters to try to break through. This young lady shows a lot of promise and should be on everyone’s list moving forward. Her potential is out of this world.
Lucky Fasavalu Lucky Fasavalu 5'8" | S Sierra Canyon | 2027 CA [2027] 5-7 Outside (HS: Homeschool/Club: Austin Skyline/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Lucky is currently an unranked prospect in the 2027 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that is only because we have not released them yet. She should have no problem being listed with what I saw in person. She is a stellar outside hitter who is homeschooled right now and plays club for Austin Skyline. We immediately took notice of Lucky as she was ripping balls from the pins in the positional drills. Once we got to the scrimmages, we knew that she would shine and boy were we correct. Her hand contact truly stood out to me while I was watching because of how great the top-spin was on the ball. I didn’t expect a smaller hitter to be able to jump as well as she did, but she proved that she could live above the net. Her timing was impeccable and she consistently drilled missiles to the opposing side. She is a six-rotation left side hitter who can take over a game if she wants to at any time. I love what I see from her and although we don’t start evaluating players until they are in high school, this is a name I will have marked down for our watch list in the future. Her athleticism was on full display for the entire two hours and I loved what I saw.
There are many more amazing players that will be written about. Stay tuned for more articles on your favorite athletes.
