We were super excited to run our Sunshine Classic Showcase in conjunction with the Sunshine Classic National Qualifier in Orlando, FL on Friday, February 24th. We had some of the best players from many states attend. Many players stood out to our court coaches and scouts throughout the entire showcase for a variety of reasons. Some players stood out for their dynamic physical skills and some stood out for intangibles like leadership, effort and attitude. Let’s meet a few of the players who earned the honor of Top Performer at the Sunshine Showcase.
Kieran Rhoton [2027] 5-11 Right Side (HS: Independence/Club: Metro/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Kieran is an unranked prospect in the 2027 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings, but is on our watch list now from how she played at the showcase. She plays Independence High School and also plays club for the Metro program. Miss Rhoton is a highly skilled attacker and blocker who could easily play at either pin position She truly shines providing a solid wall on the opposite position against each team’s outside attacker. She has a great strong frame that will attract a lot of attention as she grows in the position. Being only an 8th grader, she does a great job of being very aggressive at the net against older competition. I loved how picturesque her footwork and up swing were during her attack approach. I think she has a lot of potential and cannot wait to watch her again in the near future at other tournaments and showcases. We will be keeping her in our watch list for sure and think you should too.
Ivy Waclawczyk Ivy Waclawczyk 5'6" | DS/L Antonian College Prep | 2026 State TX [2026] 5-6 Libero (HS: Antonian/Club: San Antonio Juniors /Verbal: Uncommitted)
Ivy is an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays at Antonian College Prep and also for the San Antonio Juniors volleyball club. We had some amazing players who showcased so much effort and hustle with great attitudes and Ivy was one of those awesome liberos to do this. We immediately took to her after watching her give so much effort in the positional drills. What I saw was great balance in footwork and a solid angle during serve receive passing. Every team needs a libero who has exceptional ball control that can keep their team in the rally and give their offense a fighting chance. Miss Waclawczyk definitely has lots of athleticism and has the ability to adjust her upper body in different ways to be able to create great angles toward her setter. It doesn’t matter if the ball is outside of her zone as she has the necessary fast footwork to get her feet to the ball. I love how she was able to soften the contact of hard driven balls and keep them on her side of the net so that her squad can run solid offense. We are going to keep our eye on Ivy and are so glad that she attended the showcase. She has a great future in this sport.
Aidyn Guernsey [2026] 5-6 Libero (HS: Emerson/Club: 1United /Verbal: Uncommitted)
Aidyn is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but is on our watch list now with what we saw at the showcase. She is a superb libero and hitter who plays for Emerson High School and plays club for 1United out of the Dallas area. I was thoroughly impressed with the athleticism that Aidyn showed throughout the entire showcase. Many of our court coaches were asking what position she played as she was all over the court hitting in the front row and passing/digging in the back row. She is what I consider a slash player. This means that she is a libero/outside and can play both positions very well. Although she may not be the tallest player on the court, she truly plays at a high level. What I loved is how she listened to all of her coaches so well and was so eager to fill in a position if asked. She has the perfect attitude and you can tell she just loves the sport of volleyball with how she plays the game. In order to play with a whole bunch of people you don’t know and just met, it takes a special person to be positive and that is exactly what I saw with Aidyn. I am going to truly enjoy watching her grow in the position as she has a lot of potential. Her ball control is exceptional and she routinely kept her court in every rally with it. I also loved what I saw from her as an attacker as well. She did not back down and went toe to toe with taller players.
