Triple Crown brings the best of the best from coast to coast and everything in between. As some would say, “You walk in the gym and can smell the upsets!”
This is where the magic happens and this is where some of the best volleyball in the country is this weekend.
Let’s take a look at what we can expect from the 18u Power Pools at Triple Crown!
Group A
A5 | Club V Ren-Reed | COAST | Drive Nation |
MAVS KC | Munciana Samurai | Premier Nebraska | Sunshine |
Starting off Triple Crown strong here in Group A, first match of the day, A5 versus COAST. You got the heavy arm of Jurnee Robinson (LSU) going against a total wall at the net. Robinson will have to find her way around the block of Brooklyn Briscoe (UCLA) and Noemie Glover (Oregon) right off the bat! This should be fun! Another premier match to catch at the tail end of the morning will be the Drive Nation and Sunshine match. Two Under Armour All-Americans will meet once again across the net with MB Reese Robins (Louisville) from Drive Nation and OH Torrey Stafford (Pittsburgh) from Sunshine.
Group B
1st Alliance | AZ STORM | Dallas Skyline | Gainesville Juniors |
Legacy | Mintonette | MN Select | WAVE |
When you have both, the reigning AAU National Champions, and the USAV National Champions in the same group; you got yourself a tough one! While both Legacy and 1st Alliance are in Group B, unfortunately, we won’t see either go head-to-head, at least not on Day 1. Both have some pretty big match-ups in this group though. For Kennedy Louisell (UNCG) and Legacy, they got a real nice fight ahead of them in the Dallas Skyline match. Louisell popping off against Skyline’s Becca Kelley (Oregon)? I’ll have front row seats, please!
For 1st Alliance, Kennedy Wagner (Clemson) and company will have themselves a good one against a tough WAVE squad. Between the likes of Auburn Tomkinson (Texas) and Julia Blyashov (Stanford), 1st Alliance will have their hands full!
Group C
Adidas KIVA | AVC CLE | Houston Juniors | Houston Skyline |
KC Power | Mizuno Long Beach | Northern Lights | Tri-State |
Another great pod in the 18U Power Pool, Group C has a pair of Houston clubs that are pretty dominating and will look to do just that here. For Skyline, L Molly Tuozzo (Kentucky) has herself a big match versus KIVA, right off the bat. Tuozzo will have to contain the beast of Nya Bunton (Texas) in the middle and out of the back row. For Juniors, MB Arissa Smith (Mississippi State) will have her hands full going against Tri-State Elite’s offense ran by Luca Fickell (Indiana) to round out the morning.
Group D
Elevation | FC Elite | Ku’Ikahi | MADFROG |
NPJ | OT John | Triangle | T-Street |
Now, rounding out the final group in the 18U Power Pool, we have another fun one. Kicking things off, we have ourselves a brawl in the Elevation and NPJ Forefront match. Elevation has the powerhouse in the middle, Brooke Bultema (Kentucky), meanwhile NPJ has their own slugger in Alex Acevedo (Oregon). The two will surely be duking it out all match long. Another match that’ll be filled with powerhouse attackers, FC Elite and MADFROG. Elite has themselves Big Ten bound, Ella Demtrician (Michigan) and for MADFROG, Blaire Bayless (Pittsburgh)! The two know how to crank the ball and it will be an utter battle between the two!
