Circle City 18 Purple, Court 51 at 0800 on Saturday
With only two remaining uncommitted athletes in the class of ’23 on this roster (according to the roster website), they should be easy to find. Josie Nobbe Josie Nobbe 6'0" | OH Greensburg | 2023 State IN (’23, 6-0 OH, jersey #2) has the springs, the strength and the volleyball IQ to make an impact at the next level. Her ability to terminate at a moment’s notice should do some good for someone needing, at the very least, a three-rotation pin attacker. Macy Bruton Macy Bruton 5'11" | DS/L Crawfordsville | 2023 State IN (’23, 5-10 DS/L, jersey #5) plays a primary passing outside during high school season and a three rotation DS during club season. No matter what skill set you wish to use of hers, she’s more than capable of doing either at the collegiate level.
KeAloha 181 Nazare’, Court 52 at 0900 on Saturday
Just one court over constitutes the lone “northern Indiana” contingent in this article. KeAloha, based in Valparaiso, is coached by Craig Cromwell, former long-time assistant at Valparaiso University. His training always seems to bring out the best in each of his teams, and this year’s roster is no different. Lexi Cline Lexi Cline 5'11" | OH Portage | 2023 IN (’23, 5-11 OH, jersey #6) is a primary passing outside that can hit all of the shots from both pins, and should do the same at a small college at the next level. Her consistency and volleyball acumen has done wonders for the development of her game over the years. Leah Lindborg (’23, 6-3 MB/RS, jersey #10) is the definition of a multi-positional big that has big game experience and thrives on net defense.
Boiler Juniors 181E Gold, Court 54 at 0900 on Saturday
The flagship program at Boiler Juniors, located just down the street from Purdue in West Lafayette, is more known for its development of younger players, as evidenced by the multiple national championships they have earned over the last few years. Lexi Cunningham Lexi Cunningham 5'7" | OH North Newton | 2023 State IN (’23, 5-8 OH, jersey #4) is a spitfire of an outside that can be a primary passing outside, a three rotation attacker or a defensive specialist for a small school somewhere. McKenzie Schroeder (’23, 6-3 MB, jersey #14) can be the big needed at the next level—she can be the M2 needed on defense, a defending right side or an attacking big that could give fits to opponents.
Circle City 18 Black, Court 55 at 0800 on Saturday
The “other” 18s team at Circle is doing just fine with their commitments, thankyouverymuch. However, a couple of solid defenders, which colleges not named Texas seem to always need, dot this roster. Payton Hinkle Payton Hinkle 5'4" | DS/L Brownsburg | 2023 IN (’23, 5-4 DS/L, jersey #11) excels at anticipation and doing the quick-and-dirty work that a DS needs to do at the next level. Stevie Earley Stevie Earley 5'4" | DS/L Perry Meridian | 2023 IN (’23, 5-4 DS/L, jersey #17) is also capable of wearing the alternate jersey, and can play any of the back row positions for any size college next fall.
