It’s Nike 16-1 squad in particular really started the year off on some high notes.
While the team is dealing with a little transition now, it’s clear that HPVBA Nike 16-1 has a lot of promising prospects worth keeping an eye on.

Tony Scavarda coaches this squad, which is an 11-player roster that includes one 2026 prospect.
The team is having success this year thanks in part to middle Liz Grajewski Liz Grajewski 5'8" | OH North Farmington | 2025 State MI . The North Farmington product is leading them in kills and blocks thus far. Listed at just 5’7”, Grajewski plays much higher off the floor. Her swing is consistent and her wind up is quick, allowing her to put down a lot of balls in the middle. She’s also shown the ability to play on the outside with the same success.
While Grajewski is the primary option in the middle, High Performance has a lot of other arms to work with as well.
Carly Zibell Carly Zibell 5'10" | RS Lake Orion | 2025 State MI has been a great compliment in the middle, but can also play the RS. The Lake Orion product has a looming presence at the net and is able to effortlessly put a lot of velocity on her attacks.
Included in the outside options is 2026 prospect Nadia Murray, who is able to play anywhere along the net. The 5’11” hitter is showing a lot of poise and consistency in her offense. She’s been reliable at finding at home for the ball.
Charlotte Peplowski comes from the Lake Orion program as well and has shown the ability to heat up quickly. She’s one of the longer players on the team despite being listed at just 5’9”. Pepolowski is able to high point attacks and attack difficult angles. She looks to be gaining a lot of confidence at the net this season.
Joslyn Becker is an outside that comes from Stoney Creek. Becker can play the left or right side and finish points. She’s good at adapting to out-of-system balls and working with offspeed shots, but brings a nice powerful attack when she gets a clean set.
The High Performance offense was being run by Addy Dukus, a Lake Orion product that has gotten a lot out of the hitters this season. She is the leader in assists and aces in 2023. However, she is also a softball player for the Dragons so won’t be continuing the rest of the club season.
Anna Rich Anna Rich 5'10" | S Troy | 2025 State MI and Heidi Carroll are available for setting for High Performance now. Rich comes from the Troy program and is able to play RS as well. Her athleticism and diverse skillset has paid off everywhere on the court. Rich has been a contributor offensively, defensively and from the service line. Carroll comes from the Marian program. She’s been an asset to the rotation both her steady setting and scrappy defensive effort.
Leading the HPVBA defense is Lexi Mazzola out of Stoney Creek. Mazzola has sported the libero jersey proudly for the squad. She’s placing herself in the right spots and technically sound with her passing, looking the ball cleanly in and delivering an accurate feed to her setter. She never looks rushed or frantic.
Abigail Berner is a DS from the Hartland program. She keeps herself low to the floor and is able to get under a lot of tough attacks. Berner has also been a boost for the team’s serving. Brielle Eggenberger also comes from Hartland. She is a DS/RS/S option that has been primarily part of the High Performance defense this club season. Eggenberger handles her coverage area very well and looks smooth and collected when making a dig.
We’ve seen a lot of early success for High Performance in 2023. The Michiana Power League is going quite well, as it sits as a top-10 squad right now. It also picked up some nice wins in the Steel City Freeze as part of the 16 Open.
The Mideast Qualifier was a tough go, but the team is also transitioning to a new rotation with Dukus moving on to softball season. As the new lineup settles in, this team should get back to its winning ways. It has a lot of nice offensive options and the defense has the capability to give the hitters a chance to succeed.
