Prep Dig scouted the Kansas Rise 15-1 club’s first match of pool play on Saturday. The Rise knocked off DC Queens 15-2 in two sets, 25-8, 25-13.
The Kansas Rise is playing just its first club season and they finished the tournament with a 3-2 match record.
Here is an early look at impact players in the Class of 2026 who are currently calling the Kansas Rise their club home.
Lilian Like, 5’7”, OH, Derby, ‘26
There is so much to like about Like’s game. First off, she plays with a scowl and serious intensity, which I love. She is all business on the court, even in 8:00 am club play. The Derby freshman finished with five digs and two kills in the win over DC Queens. Like made the Derby varsity team as a freshman and finished with 116 kills in her freshman season.
Sydney Nance, 5’8”, M, Eisenhower (Goddard), ‘26
Nance has a solid net-front presence. She finished with seven kills and two blocks. She has a big reach and can jump. She will need to improve her passing skills in order to play back row and six rotations.
Blair Wiltshire, 5’10”, M, Andover, ‘26
Wiltshire has a volleyball frame. She finished with six kills and played front-row only. She should have a major role for the Andover Trojans during the next three seasons.
Brooke Forred, 5’4”, DS, Rose Hill, 26
Forred arguably has the best serve on the Kansas Rise team, and would be a huge weapon for her. Her serve is hard and accurate. She is a spunky defensive player who makes accurate first passes. She will benefit from three more years of club and high school experience in which to refine her skills.
