Mid-East Qualifiers is the place to be this weekend with some of the best talent from around the country, not just the Mid-East. Weekend 1 will hold host to the 16s through 18s age group. Temps outside are calling for a chillier weekend, but the Indianapolis Convention Center is going to be RED HOT!
Let’s take a look at some of the top match-ups to watch on Day 1 of MEQs in the 16 Open Division.
Pool 3: KIVA vs. Boiler Juniors
This match up is going to be a really fun one to look out for in pool 3. The top two seeds will surely have its share of blows back and forth. KIVA has a pair of stout middle blockers with

and Elise Hart. They pose a continual threat like no other on the block and defense. Boiler Juniors on paper has a significant size disadvantage going into this match. But with some intense ball control and crafty attackers on their end, this is going to be a fun one to watch.

Pool 5: Legacy vs. Rockwood Thunder
It’s the battle of the setters in this match. Campbell Flynn and Brytn Lyon are two of the hottest commodities in the position for this age group. Both are stout blockers and lethal attackers on two, standing at 6’2 a piece, but they both run a really fast paced offense. Olivia Grenadier is Flynn’s go-to weapon in the middle. Meanwhile Lyon’s go-to is big lefty banger, Danielle Moore. I could easily see this match going the distance.
Pool 6: Tribe vs. Elevation
Speaking of the big time setters of tomorrow, Charlotte Glass enters the conversation with Tribe. Just as top-level as her setting is, that attack on two is a beauty. Glass and company will have their hands full however with the beasts they’ll be seeing in their match with Elevation. With the likes of 6’3 Katie Gielas on the pin and 6’4 Lily Riegel in the middle. These two are hard to get around and hard to stop. This is a match you don’t want to miss!
