Prep Dig scouted PVA ‘ last=”]’s two-set loss to Apex Volleyball a club out of Springfield, Missouri. Based on their record it was not one of PVA ‘ last=”]’s best matches, but there are players on this squad who can play at the next level including Blue Valley’s Grace Wagers Grace Wagers 6'2" | MB Blue Valley | 2024 State KS who has already committed to Division II program Central Missouri.
Here is the third of multiple scouring reports from 17 Power League play in Bel Aire.
Fiona VanDyke Fiona VanDyke 6'1" | RS Lawrence Free State | 2024 State KS , 6’0”, RS, Free State, ‘24
VanDyke looks like a talent that can dominate a game. She finished with seven kills, three digs, four receptions, and two blocks in the 25-20, 25-22 loss to Apex. She is tall and has a big reach. Vandyke hits the ball well and has committed to playing volleyball after dipping her toes in the soccer pool. Watching her for the first time, I project her as a fringe mid-major Division I or a Division II type talent. A big senior season at Free State could determine what opportunities she gets moving forward.
Lauren Croom Lauren Croom 5'7" | S Blue Valley Northwest | 2024 State KS , 5’7”, S, Blue Valley Northwest, ‘24
Croom really impressed in the loss. She had 10 assists, two kills, and two digs in the early Saturday match. She pushes the ball really well to the pin and she has an accurate spot serve. Croom can put the ball in any zone called.
Taryn Marcum Taryn Marcum 5'5" | DS/L Paola | 2024 State KS , 5’4”, L, Paola, ‘24
Marcum had the best defensive match for PVA ‘ last=”]. She racked up eight serve receptions and six digs. She makes a nice first pass to set up the system and she lays out for balls to extend plays.
Mia Frisbie, 5’11”, MH, Home School, ‘24
Mia Frisbie, an interesting prospect, is currently being home-schooled. She finished with six kills and three blocks. She is a physical athlete who can really jump. She looks like an NAIA-level talent.
