As emails come pouring in as we see after every ranking update it’s important to add this note: sometimes a player moving down has more to do with players moving up. Let’s take a look at the top ten with some commentary.
The best player in the state in my opinion stays at the top of the 2024 rankings. In seeing her live numerous times in the last six months, her game just continues to elevate. 534 kills this fall for Liberty North and she stays on the. court for Dynasty 17 Black. Arizona is getting a good one.
Mizzou is getting some good home grown talent in Morrissey come 2024. She still has the second spot locked up after producing over 300 kills last fall.

A defender having such a high ranking is typically a shock but not when the defender is Olivia Hasbrook Olivia Hasbrook 5’9″ | DS/L Eureka | 2024 State #56 Nation MO . The future Buckeye continues to make highlight plays along the back row for Rockwood Thunder 17 Elite. She had 7 kills last fall for Eureka…sorry, wrong stat line to focus on! What about 516 digs? That’s more like it. She also passed the ball 491 times with only 20 reported errors.
Risley jumped up to the fourth position after another consistent year for Rockwood and Lafayette in 2022. Heading to Northern Kentucky in a year, she does a lot of things well on the court and has a good array of shots.
Bax is a player who continues to get better and better each year and moved into the top five after helping lead Blair Oaks to consecutive state titles. The six foot opposite can fill up a stat line offensively with a wicked left arm.
Finley will be taking her talents to Missouri State in 2024 and the staff saw the same potential we saw last year when getting eyes on her. Her upside is tremendous and her growth has been a beauty to watch. She hammered 355 kills in 2022.
Highlights
Nelson has distinguished herself as one of the top setters in the state for her class over the last couple of seasons. The future Villanova Wildcat dished out 958 assists en route to a state title.
The most recent commit, meaning in the last 24 hours is the 5’9″ pin who will be setting up a dorm room in Springfield, Missouri for Missouri State in a short year and a half. Baade made a jump into the top ten after an all-state season where she delivered 353 kills and 341 digs for Ozark.

Mia Scanlon Mia Scanlon 5’10” | OH Marquette | 2024 State MO sets up shop in the 9th spot after over 300 kills for Marquette last fall. The pin is ready to set her sights on the Florida sunshine when she heads to play beach at Florida Atlantic in 2024.

And rounding out the top ten is another lights out defender in Audrey Small Audrey Small 5’6″ | DS/L Fort Zumwalt West | 2024 State MO . She has been a staple behind the blockers making plays for HPSTL for years. Number 19 is always making tough plays look routine.
