They’re every hitter’s worst nightmare. Some of the top liberos in the 2025 class were in Indianapolis soaking up all the heat.
Here are some of the top liberos coming out of the 2023 Mid-East Qualifier.
Kristen Simon – KIVA
The block and defense for this KIVA team is so dang strong. If any ball manages to sneak past the block, Simon is ALL over it. Simon’s overall back court play was top notch in Indy, passing lights out and touching about every ball that came her way.
Olivia Durst – MKE Sting
Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, goes down on this ‘bro. Any ball that came Durst’s way this weekend, it was almost always right on top of target. What was even more impressive was her ability to keep the worst of balls alive. Every time I caught a Sting game, Durst was always in the bench keeping balls alive.
Mckenna Payne – Michigan Elite
There’s no shock to see this player getting her first invite out to train with the USA National Team Development Program in DC. Payne is seeing her stock skyrocket and I’m convinced we haven’t even cracked the surface of what she can do yet.
Zoey Matias – Tribe
This libero makes up a pretty top notch trifecta for a hard-to-stop Tribe squad. Matias has an eye for the game that seemingly keeps this team in constant flow. Even when in out of system, Matias is so good with her out of system setting, opponents just can’t catch a break!
Callie Krueger – Austin Skyline
Seeing the type of hitters this ‘bro has on her side of the net, its no wonder why the game looks so easy to her. Krueger was a clear stand out this weekend for Austin Skyline, her defense was crucial in the big matches to finish fifth overall.
Devin Dzienny – Legacy
I get to catch a lot of this player time and time again, but Dzienny never leaves you wanting more. She’s so good, all the time. Seeing Dzienny take on a bigger role this season in her reception and defensive radius is impressive and its taking her team to great heights.
