The American Division event was won by the 417 Juniors 16-1 team with a perfect 6-0 record.
Prep Dig scouted three matches in the tournament from Kansas City area schools, here is a quick look at members from those three teams who could get college offers down the road.
I scouted the MAVS KC 16-2 which defeated the Performance Volleyball 16-2 squad 25-10, 25-8, and then went on to finish second in the tournament with a 6-1 record.
Ashley Barcus Ashley Barcus 5'10" | OH Olathe West | 2025 State KS , 5’9”, OH, Olathe West,
Barcus has a rocket attached to her arm. She finished the match with seven aces, three kills, and five digs. Her serve was deadly accurate during this match. Barcus is a big jumper and was coming off a missed tournament due to an injury. If she was not quite a 100-percent healthy, then I want to see “that” Barcus play.
Gracelyn Klecan, 5’6”, L, Spring Hill
Another club team and another player from Spring Hill. I swear they must have a volleyball orchard growing somewhere on the Johnson and Miami county line. Klecan finished the match with five digs and two serve receptions. She is a quality defensive player.
Blakley McFall, 5’5”, DS/OH, Olathe South
McFall is like the “Little Engine” that sparks the team. She is a fireball of energy and enthusiasm. She finished the match with seven kills, three digs, three serve receptions, and three service aces. Due to her size, she might well end up as a DS or Libero, but she can hit and play six rotations.
I also scouted Dynasty 16-2 (Blue) face off against the Manhattan Mamba in a 25-23, 25-19 victory. Dynasty Blue finished the event with a 3-4 match record.
Hanna Lee Willeford Hanna Lee Willeford 5'10" | OH Blue Valley West | 2025 State KS , 5’10”, OH, Blue Valley West
Willeford is an absolute beast at the net. The Blue Valley West prospect finished with seven kills and six blocks in the win over the Mamba. She can jump through the roof and will break any ceiling put in front of her. Even though she is only in the Class of 2025, I would not hesitate to project her as a Division I prospect. She was the best player I saw in the regional bid event.
Brylynn Wicker Brylynn Wicker 5'11" | RS Paola | 2025 State KS , 5’10”, MH, Paola
Wicker is another very intimidating hitter. She finished with six kills, two blocks, and one dig in the win over Manhattan.
The third match in the American division I watched was the KC Power 16-2 knocking off the Missouri Juniors 25-15, 21-25, 15-4. KC Power finished the tournament with a 3-2 record.
Allison Herold, 5’8”, OH, Blue Valley
Herold is a high-energy player. She finished with eight kills, seven serve receptions, two digs, and can play six rotations.
Camryn Talcott, 5’8”, OH, Olathe South
Talcott is an interesting prospect. She is not the tallest player on the team and not the highest jumper on the team, but she is just all over the court and fills up a stat sheet. She finished with five digs, four receptions, and one kill in the match.
Nash is a salty libero and one of the most athletic liberos I have watched this season. She finished with 12 digs and 10 serve receptions.
