The Saints were an interesting team to watch as both of the primary setters on the roster are down with injuries. Three regulars on the team are out with injuries, so the Saints had multiple players playing up from their 14 squads.
Here is the fourth report from the 16 Select Division action in Lawrence.
Jera Brown, 5’2”, L, Shawnee Heights, ‘25
Brown had the best performance by a libero in any of the four matches scouted by Prep Dig. She finished with 14 digs and eight serve receptions. Brown makes solid first passes and has a high-quality serve. She carried the team defensively in the 22-25, 25-17 split-set match.
Emily Ditzler, 5’9”, OH/MH, Holton, ‘26
Holton prospect Ditzler can flat-out jump. She finished with five kills, three blocks, and three digs. She was all over the court and was leaned on during the Saints’ attack.
Lexsey Heberling Lexsey Heberling 5'8" | MB Santa Fe Trail | 2025 State KS , 5’9”, OH/MH, Santa Fe Trail, ‘25
Heberling is an impressive athlete. She has a tall, strong, compact frame. If she played football, Heberling would be a middle linebacker or tight end. She finished the match against the Lee’s Summit, Missouri club team with three kills and three blocks.
Cora Genovese, 5’4”, L, Washburn Rural, ‘25
Genovese had a quality defensive game for the Saints. She finished with four digs and three serve receptions. She usually plays back-row only but saw more court time due to the injuries on the squad. She plays junior varsity ball in 2022 for Washburn Rural, a program just loaded with talent. She is one of many players from Rural on the club scene who would start varsity matches if they attended smaller schools.
