Here are some of the 2024 outside and right-side hitters that stood out:
Kala Cruz (2024) | OPP | Next Level Academy – Cruz is a high volleyball IQ player that makes the smart play creating opportunities for her teammates. Additionally, she reads a hitter well that gets her around the ball to relentlessly dig.
Rachel Mak (2024) | OPP | SF Elite – Mak is a setter’s friend in that a solid approach gives her lots of room to go find a ball to hit. Her team looks to set her no matter where the pass goes and she delivers a hard-hitting attack time and again.
Jade Fritzinger Jade Fritzinger 5'8" | DS/L Chaminade College Preparatory | 2024 CA (2024) | OH | Actyve – Blockers need to be extra disciplined against Fritzinger as she successfully hits at the inside, outside, and seam of the block on most of her attacks. Before all of that, she holds her platform well after contact before she gets to start her long-stride approach.
Tara Hagan (2024) | OPP | Encore – Hagan is a reliable outside blocker for her middles as she sets up a firm location for a middle to close a block too. She has great length and gets a good height above the net to put pressure on opposing hitters.
Isabell Quigg (2024) | OH | APEX – Quigg seems to have a magnet on her for the ball and the setter finds her a lot, especially in the back row. She makes really great swing-blocking moves and her athleticism opens up many options for those back-row sets she gets.
Sophie Fackrell (2024) | OH | APEX – Fackrell roams around in her area of the backcourt very well being in position to make a play. She throws her body to an incoming attack that makes it easier for her teammates to defend their area.
Lauryn Allen (2024) | OH | Top Flight – Setters can use a lot of creativity when Allen is on the court hitting because her four-step approach covers quite a lot of ground. She keeps that consistent with length with her play at the net in the blocking phase of the action.
