Crotinger Plays Stat Monster For Topeka Fury 16-1

Lauren Crotinger posted some big numbers in the Topeka Fury 16-1 victory over Club Wave in the 16 Select Division competition during the Sunflower Slam at the Lawrence Sports Pavilion on April 2.   Three players who attend Jefferson West High School had solid performances for the younger of the two Fury squads.   This is the final report from the 16 Select Division play in Lawrence.   Lauren Crotinger, 5'8”, OH, Jefferson West, ‘25   Crotinger was a stat monster in Fury's 25-21, 25-23, victory over Club Wave. She finished with four kills, seven digs, five assists, and five serve receptions. The Jeff West product has a solid serve and was the most prominent of the Tigers prospects who played well for the Topeka Fury.   Ryliegh Zitek, 5'8”, OH, Jefferson West, ‘25   Zitek is a tall, skinny athlete, who will benefit by adding some upper-body strength. She finished with five kills, four digs, and four serve receptions. She is very athletic and will continue to improve as she gains experience and becomes more confident in her skills.   Ellie Stowe, 5'3”, DS, Jefferson West, 26   Stowe is an impressive defensive specialist. She finished with 10 serve receptions and five digs. Stowe makes a solid first pass to try to keep her team in system. She is the leader of this group and when she was playing well, so was the rest of the team. She finished with seven assists, four digs, four serve receptions, and two kills in the Fury's first match of the tournament. She is quick and communicates well with her teammates. Watkins is also solid in the tip game and can find open space on the court.
