This year, we have four teams from our great state representing us. We will take a look at each team, where they rank, what division they are playing in and some of their awesome players.
Teams:
Peak 18-1 will be playing in the National division and is the 6th seed overall. The yare currently ranked #79 in the nation. The National division is the second highest level USAV offers. It is only 1 step behind the Open division. Peak 18-1 has a plethora of college commits and some of the best seniors from the OKC area. Players like Riley Roberts Riley Roberts 5'10" | S Norman North | 2023 State OK , Katie Kolar Katie Kolar 5'3" | S Norman North | 2023 State OK , Emily Boyer Emily Boyer 5'11" | S Carl Albert | 2023 State OK , Jenna Houk Jenna Houk 5'9" | OH Deer Creek | 2023 State OK and Audrey Bird Audrey Bird 5'11" | MB State OK have all been covered by prep dig extensively. This team is loaded with girls who love to compete in practices and games alike. It is no wonder why they finished top 5 in all the qualifiers that they attended.
Elevate 18-1 will be playing in the American division and is the 63rd seed. They are currently ranked #910 in the nation. Elevate is a first year club but don’t let that fool you, they are directed by coach Lee Johnson, who is also coaching the Oklahoma All Star team this summer. Saige Day, Kirsten Harper, Camryn Barclay, and Olivia Murphy are all players hopefully you were able to watch play this season. They are an exciting group to watch and they love to celebrate each other.
Tulsa Power 18-1 will be playing in the American division and is the 8th seed. They are currently ranked #78th in the nation. TPV is a relatively new club but they are exploding quickly out of Tulsa. This team also is loaded with college commits and high school standouts. Players like Carley Butler Carley Butler 6'1" | MB Owasso | 2024 State OK , Olivia Vance Olivia Vance 5'10" | OH Bixby | 2023 State OK and Ella Drake Ella Drake 5'11" | OH Regent | 2023 State OK can all pound the rock! Jessica Shildt Jessica Shildt 5'3" | DS/L Bishop Kelley | 2023 State OK , Layla Lenex Layla Lenex 6'0" | MB Charles Page | 2023 State OK and Kate Hook Kate Hook 5'8" | S Holland Hall | 2023 State OK all were key players for their high schools. This team has a real chance to make a deep run in this division!
Virago 18-1 will be playing in the Freedom division and is the 34th seed. They are currently ranked #828 in the nation. Virago is also relatively new to the club scene in Tulsa. Players like Campbell Roadman, Kinzie Wagner Kinzie Wagner 5'3" | S Sapulpa | 2023 State OK and Emilie Wayne all have done a great job in the back row this season. Raegan Reeves, Avery Flinton and Marti Flores have kept the offense flowing.
Wrap Up:
These four teams are heading to Columbus, Ohio today to get ready to show the nation what Oklahoma has to offer at our oldest age group. Two of the four are an overall one seed in their division and will have a great chance to make a deep run on Sunday. GOOD LUCK to all four teams and safe travels!
For those that are 2023 seniors, thank you for all you have done for volleyball in the state of Oklahoma. It was a pleasure to see you grow each year and now move on to bigger things.
