Kern always impresses me with the big dynamic swing she takes. She is explosive and fun to watch against any team.
Heard was showing off her ability to find the edges of the block and swing hard off the blockers hands. This is one of the most difficult things to defend because there are so many variables. I love seeing a player with that kind of IQ for the game.
One thing that stuck out to me the first time I saw Kos go up to block this weekend was how high she was getting. Then I see her take a big rip on the ball followed by a sweet finesse shot just over the block. I can’t get enough of those athletes that keep you guessing!
Stevens caught my eye at the Beast of the Northeast last fall. I noticed she plays quite a bit of travel basketball so I was thrilled to see her playing club volleyball because she has a lot of athleticism. Stevens is a big presence at the net but also has the footwork to run a really nice slide route in front or behind her setter.
Alyssa Lallensack

Lallensack showed some really good awareness up at the net. She took care of some over passes and had quick reaction on some emergency plays. Lallensack also gets up quickly on the block.
Kathryn Fischer
Kathryn Fischer
Fischer does a nice job with her timing and approach to get up early and take a nice swing in the gap between blockers. She also does a nice job closing the block and moving laterally.
Schumacher is a super dynamic attacker. She takes a big aggressive approach and let’s it rip. She has long limbs giving her a really high contact point and then she works her arm like a whip for a lightning fast swing.
Gooding does a great job on defense with getting her hips under the ball. Then she is quick to get up and ready to attack from the back row. You can tell she is a steady and consistent worker that is focused on getting each point.
O’Brien is a big lefty swing from the right pin. She packs a powerful punch and does a great job terminating for points.
Funkhouser takes a big approach and hits the ball hard off the block to score points. She is a work horse across the front row and doesn’t ease up until the job is done.

Lord runs a strong and confident slide approach which you don’t always see at the 15’s level. She hits a nice 2 ball off the edges of the block and she knows how to work the angles to score points.
Altendorf is an extremely springy and explosive hitter. She is definitely a go to in any pressure situation because she consistently finds a way to score points or at the very least take teams out of system and make them panic.
Holzer has really developed over the course of the season and she’s found a great rhythm in the process. She puts up a really big block in front of pin hitters and is very intimidating to attack against. As an attacker she can work the line or take a swing on a hard angle from the right side.

Tylinski takes a monster swing down the line to nail the deep 1 corner and she can do this over and over again. She is super athletic with a high ceiling and I could see her rising in the ranks at FCE.

Dempsey knows how to generate a lot of power with her swing. She’s mastered the craft of working off hands and nailing the deep court when defenders start to creep up.
