The 2025 Watch List is an impressive collection in its own right, many that have made a big impact on the prep scene as sophomores.
Here’s a look at the Watch List talents in L-M.
Jessica Lee Jessica Lee 5'8" | DS/L Skyline | 2025 State MI DS/L Skyline/Legacy
Lee was the libero for Skyline this past fall and got to play alongside one of the all-time greats in Michigan history. Lee plays very poised and doesn’t let herself get rattled. She shows the ability to make corrections and pick up trends on her opposing hitters quickly.
Abby Leffring Abby Leffring 6'0" | OH West Michigan Christian | 2025 State MI , OH West Michigan Christian/FaR Out
Leffring is a long hitter that can play anywhere along the net and be successful. She’s got the ability to dial up a fastball, but works a lot of different locations and shot angles. Leffring also takes what she is given with her sets and recognizes when to play offspeed or a high-arcing shot.
Kylie Loehfelm Kylie Loehfelm 6'1" | OH Forest Hills Northern | 2025 State MI , OH Forest Hills Northern/FaR Out
Loehfelm is a promising 6-foot hitter that is likely to have a big role with Northern in the upcoming 2023 prep season. She brings a lot of forward momentum to the net and it helps her generate good power that can work through blockers. As she continues to add more speed to her game, it should lead to a lot of success.
Reese Lowe Reese Lowe 5'10" | OH Byron Center | 2025 State MI , OH Byron Center/FaR Out
Lowe has a really sound all-around game. As a hitter, she is very composed and is able to finish points with out-of-system balls consistently. Her back row attack is really strong, and she has all the speeds and angles at the net. Defensively, Lowe looks really smooth moving around the floor. She’s technically sound and is going to be a real asset for her prep and club teams in the years to come.
Laura Mabrey Laura Mabrey 5'3" | DS/L Mt. Morris | 2025 State MI , DS/L Mt. Morris
Mabrey was the defensive leader for Mt. Morris in 2022 and put everything she had in the position. Working with a light roster, Mabrey knew she had to do everything she could to keep her squad in tight matches. Mabrey was relentless with her sprawling and instincts to come through with big digs. She covered a lot of space and had total command of the back row.
Natalia Malewicz Natalia Malewicz 5'10" | OH Henry Ford | 2025 State MI , OH Henry Ford/Michigan Elite
Malewicz has been able to play both ends of the net and also has a powerful back row attack. Malewicz works some challenging angles for blockers to be able to stop. She’s got a technically sound swing and seems like she’s able to extend her hitting arm another couple of inches to work over blocks.
Mallory McFarlane Mallory McFarlane 5'7" | DS/L Saline | 2025 State MI , DS/L Saline/Michigan Elite
McFarlane had to step up for Saline in a high-pressure situation in the state semifinal and looked really strong. She fit in nicely and was able to dig out some big hitters. McFarlane has smooth movement in the back row and looks the ball in to make an accurate pass. She can big a big contributor to the Saline defense in 2023.
Keira McNutt Keira McNutt 5'9" | DS/L Mercy | 2025 State MI , DS/L Mercy/L2
McNutt stepped into the libero position in key matches for Mercy during the 2023 season and proved she could take on the biggest hitters. She’s an athletic player that can stay low to the ground and get a good read on opposing hitters. McNutt was able to keep Mercy in an up-tempo speed of play and looked like the team didn’t miss a beat.
