A setter that asserts her presence is very important and

has established that. Just look at where her middles go related to where the pass goes. The middles are so adaptive that they will run a route in front or behind Hekier without communication. Her leadership extends to leading by example. She has consistent footwork and a finish to her set each and every time. With that consistency, she also can adapt and makes the easy set if the pass go to an unexpected location.
Thommi Hall | 5’10” | OH/OPP/MB |
It is a special thing when a team relies on a middle to score many points and Thommi Hall is that middle. To start, Hall reaches high when hitting. She can also be counted on to stay off the net. Being that distance away from the net really opens up a regular hit to her right and deep in the court. Additionally, she tracks the ball in the air and snaps her wrist to keep the ball in play. She gets to her antenna blocker early and gets her arms across the net fast.
Abigail Wasserman | 5’9” | OPP | Empower of Eastvale
This lefty, Abigail Wasserman, takes four steps of equal distance during her approach. This makes her an adaptable hitter. Consequently, her contact point of slightly outside and slightly in front happens on every approach. With that consistent contact point, she finds many angles to attack the ball. She will always make defenders think twice.
Dru Delano | 5’7” | L/DS |
Dru Delano is a backcourt player that always finds a way to get the ball to target. This is likely because she moves her feet and shoulders to keep the ball in front of her. The coordination of her moving and dropping a shoulder simultaneously is impressive. Additionally, when the ball is hard driven she keeps it close to her body. Conversely, on an offspeed hit she really works to keep the ball away from her body. She also gives her teammates plenty of space to do what they do.
Alexis Suksdorf | 5’11” | OH/OPP/MB | Forza1
Hitting low to the net can be a crafty way to score many points and Alexis Suksdorf is great at that. What makes her successful after her contact is that she drives the ball to the deep part of the court. Look for her to even send over a sneaky tip to an open space of the court. On the other side, she reaches high when blocking. This is a nice ability to have to be adjustable as a blocker. Her left arm seals off deep court attack possibility from opposing hitters.
Trinity Cox | 5’8” | S | Surfside
A setter with soft hands, like Trinity Cox, has a natural ability that is difficult to teach. The ball settles in her hand yet she gets it to the hitter quickly. This leads to the delivery of an outside that just hangs in the air. That is a hitter’s dream. This settling delivery also makes it difficult for blockers to read. Two consistencies are her jump setting a middle hitter and finding those middles in the transition phase.
