Esperanza Huerta | 5’3” | L/DS | Da Kine Ohana
Esperanza Huerta has a passing technique that displays a lot of inner strength and balance. With her right foot far in front of her left, she creates a lot of space to make a good angle to target. That posture also makes is easy to get low to pass. Additionally, she can move her legs backward to forward to push a served ball up to her setter.
Mikayla Stewart | 5’5” | L/DS | BAVC
To cover the seams in a serve receive pattern is really incredible and Mikayla Stewart makes it look easy. She moves really well backwards to cover the toughest serve in volleyball. Therefore, covering the court like this makes serve receive much easier on her teammates. All that movement yet she continually contacts the ball on the same place of her platform.

has those. Servers can try to serve short but she will be there to pick up each one. Her quick feet also make her ready and available even when a serve goes to a teammate. This quickness also gives time for her to wait for the ball to come to her. She does stay in the middle of the court which allows the ball to be contacted high and low on her body.
Macey Visser | 5’7” | L/DS | Valley Volleyball Academy
A confident passer is necessary for any serve-receive pattern and Macey Visser checks that box. Minimal movement with her feet put her in a position to contact the ball very far away from her body. With all the extension, she remains strong throughout the pass and confidently holds her platform after contact. She occasionally uses her shoulders when a serve comes at her high.
Kathryn Culpepper | 5’3” | L/S| Pinnacle Tahoe
A supportive teammate, Kathryn Culpepper will hold back to let her teammates pass the ball. This selflessness creates an effective group of three passers moving well together. With an explosive first couple steps, she is quick to a short serve. This quickness also sets up some miraculous diving plays. In general, her contact point is high and she will get low with ease when needed.
Tammy Bringgold | 5’10” | OH/RS | Yuba Elite
Tammy Bringgold steps up to any challenge brought to her from a server. This often makes her pass at a high contact point. That is great because then the ball does the work from the angles she has to create. Her efficient movement leaves no question that she can make a precise pass to target. Keep watching her as she plays throughout the summer.
