It’s all you could ever want, some of the best college coaches from around the country in one gym. Not only do you get to train under them for a night or two, but you might grab their attention.
We’re taking an inside look at Michigan Elite’s inaugural College Coaches Training Camp and Combine. Starting off strong, we’re looking at six 2024s bringing the heat to UWM Sports Complex.
Riley Robertson – 5’5 L – Team 27
A product of the Croswel-Lexington cannon of East Michigan, Robertson has been a top libero in the BWAC conference for a few seasons now. Playing with Team 27 this past club season, Robertson brings some fun depth to the field of defenders.
Danielle Mertz Danielle Mertz 5'11" | OH Marian | 2024 State MI – 5’11 UT – Michigan Elite
A breakout season would be underselling what Mertz has been up to this club season. I list her as a utility due to her work with Marian HS, as the last three seasons, Mertz has served as the mean, supreme impact sub for just about every position on the court.
Lydia LaCavera – 5’9 OH – Team 27
Another product from the Blue Water area, this time out of Almont and Team 27. LaCavera is going to be a new name on many radars, including my own. LaCavera has been a go-to attacker for Team 27, I am excited to see her in action at this year’s combine.
Devin Brunk Devin Brunk 5'10" | OH Lake Orion | 2024 State MI – 5’10 OH – High Performance
From one team’s go-to player to the net, Brunk is High Performance’s big scorer. Brunk is a solid six rotation player that can bring a lot pace to her ball and follow up with nice ball control.
Sierra Vosler – 6’0 OH – Monsters
I got a little taste of Vosler at this year’s Motor City Madness and I don’t think she’ll disappoint the coaches on deck with what she brings to the table. Vosler has a strong, circular arm swing that can be lethal with the right contact.
Sydney Ryan Sydney Ryan 6'3" | RS Seaholm | 2024 State MI – 6’3 OPP – Michigan Elite
Ryan has been having a really good season with Michigan Elite 17 Mizuno, but I don’t think we’ve seen the best of what she has to offer yet. 6’3, physical and still pretty raw, Ryan’s ceiling is pretty high for any program looking to pick her up.
