A Rare Glimpse At Players From 14s Part II (Libero/DS)

It is to showcase younger players who are making a name for themselves in this sport. Although the players come from the class of 2026, 2027, or 2028 because they are playing up, the seasons go by so fast those graduating classes will be here before we know it. A lot of times plays are missed because a player hesitates. She would not hesitate to go after a ball. She would dive, slide and dig the ball to start the offense. She would be ready in defense receiving serves and attacks. Her ability to move quickly helped her cover areas in back row, saving the ball from hitting the ground. She provided reliability from back row by being there to cover the tips and blocks if they were tooled back onto the court. Her quickness and agility at this age are strong qualities to have. She was popping up balls left and right, passing on target. She protected the court by being there to recover tips or defend against attacks from the opponent. She didn't hesitate for a ball. She is quick being able to get down low and right back up for a play. Addison would slide on her knees and quickly pop back up as captured in her picture. She can pass the ball with a strong platform and cover large areas because she's so fast. If the setter took the first pass or got caught in traffic, she was able to set the ball and make a play. She can provide good quality passes on serve receive and her passes are solid on predictable balls. When in the path of a kill, she is positioned to dig the ball before it can hit the ground. She can get down to dig and get back up into position ready to cover. Her fast lateral movements helped her get into position to pass or defend. She would bump set the second ball on target when the setter couldn't get to it. She provided that defensive pressure in back row from her athleticism, being able to go sideline to sideline and getting down and back up quickly. She made her presence known with her passing, picking up block touches, and covering her setter. Her passes are effective so the setter can make the best of them. She has quick footwork and lateral mobility to get to the ball and pass to the setter. She is in a reliable role for good passes, digging, and good coverage. As they continue to mature and grow in the game their experience and skills will become more developed and precise. Time will bring them better understanding, maturity, and greatness.
