Lots of talent was being displayed as most of these girls were all competing in their last tournament before AAU’s and Junior National Championships. Clubs like Miami Volleyball Academy, Miami hype, Tribe, Wildfire, High Voltage, and many more came to compete at this tournament. The following are some Outsides that stood out to me this past weekend.
Tekoa “Tee” Barnes is a very athletic dynamic outside who contributes a little bit of everything to her game. One of those outsides who is very light on her feet and does a great job at getting her feet around a ball out of system. Not afraid to swing away as well when giving a ball out of system. Has a huge swing on her and will be very exciting to see how she develops throughout the next two years.
Already proving herself as one of the top players in the country as she’s an alternate for the U19 USA National team, Kelly Kinney Kelly Kinney 6’2″ | OH The King’s Academy | 2025 State #15 Nation FL is a natural on the outside. Kelly has very few holes in her game. Very good at hitting angle when given and hitting line when given as she does a good job at reading the block in front of her. Having this understanding for the game as a sophomore going into her junior year, it’s going to be exciting to see her play in the following two years to see where she develops.

Another tall dynamic outside in the class of 24 is Agatha Gonzalez. What stood out to me about Agatha is her ability to play smart shots on inside sets and sets that were off the net. She has a good tendency of swinging those shots deep and scoring points or putting teams out of system. When given good sets, she always tends to find more and more angle and loves to crush balls sharp. Also a smart server and tends to pick on the weaker opponents on serve receive and helps get the opposing teams out of system.
Ana Tobar

I was very impressed watching Ana play over this past weekend. Definition of a solid aggressive OH2. One of the lightest feet as an OH2 and very all around solid on serve receive and defense. One thing that impressed me the most was Anas fearlessness swinging out of system. Very good at getting her feet around the ball and swinging hard to the deep corner. Definitely one of the more underrated outsides in her class.

Julia is an athlete that you can tell has slowed the game down for herself at a very young age. She does a great job of reading hitters and getting her hips around to face the hitter and play defense and does a lot of the same on serve receive. Also plays a lot of smart shots offensively.

Julia is a great athlete who looks like she’s starting to feel comfortable filling into her role as an outside on her team. She is a leader who strives to help her teammates perform at the highest level as well. One thing that stood out to me about Julia is her her whip on her swing. Very big textbook whip swing that helps her produce a lot of points offensively for her team. Would be interesting to see how she develops going into next year
