Camila Adams Camila Adams 5'8" | DS/L Providence | 2024 State IN , 5-8, Providence, KIVA
The tallest on today’s list is the only one with “state champion” attached to her name. Not only is she the ‘bro for perennial powerhouse Providence, but she goes across the Ohio River to play at KIVA, known for their high volleyball IQ and superior training of ball control. And why not? This young lady has done everything under the sun in the sport we all love, and now that she’s settled in as a left-back libero, it’s only a matter of time before she is committed. Her length, anticipation, work ethic and coachability are only a few of the exceptional traits this young lady brings.
Alena Naddaf Alena Naddaf 5'2" | DS/L New Prairie | 2024 State IN , 5-2, New Prairie, Dunes
A young member of the class of ’24, you can find Alena on the 16 Black squad at Dunes. Because of her size, she has learned to anticipate with the best, her feet are always going, and she has relentless pursuit of every off-speed shot. She’s one of those kids that “hovers”—always around the action, always around the ball, and always a thorn in the side of every opponent thinking they can get away with a tip or roll shot in her general vicinity.
Katie Smith Katie Smith 5'3" | DS/L Roncalli | 2024 State IN , 5-2, Roncalli, Rev
I’ve been high on Katie’s stock for a couple of years now, and her high-level play in high school with 4A top ten Roncalli only emphasizes what she’s capable of. Her work ethic is second to none, she’s very coachable, and seems to get better every time I see her play. In this author’s humble opinion, Katie could play all three spots in the back row in addition to wearing the special jersey. At a school where there are so many exceptional liberi, Katie can add her name to that list.
Chloe Eastburn Chloe Eastburn 5'7" | DS/L Center Grove | 2024 State IN , 5-7, Center Grove, Academy
I can’t say enough about this kid. Yes, I’m biased—I live in Center Grove. But hear me out. Chloe has been the libero for the top team in her age group at Academy for a couple of years now, and you’ll have to pry that jersey away from her if she ever plans to share it. Her abilities are numerous—she can receive serve on half the court, owns left back, pursues with the best of them and can get to any off-speed shot even remotely towards her. She’s also relentless in her recruiting opportunities; she’s already participated in the Under Armour Next Volleyball camp, and has improved since then.
Natalie Lux Natalie Lux 5'4" | DS/L Fishers | 2024 State IN , 5-4, Fishers, Munciana
If you want to pass at the next level, you need to train at Munciana. Full stop. No other club in the state trains defenders from birth through graduation like Munciana does, and Natalie can add her name to that long list of kids doing just that. She’s controlled with her body, relentless with her feet, reads attackers at an elite level, and has played against open-level competition for years. It’s unfortunate that her high school is stuck in the same sectional with Maxpreps National Top 25 Hamilton Southeastern, as we may never see her compete for a state title. However, that has never changed Miss Lux’s work ethic—she should be the heir apparent to the libero jersey for her senior season.
