Meredith Slaton Meredith Slaton 5'7" | S Scottsburg | 2024 State IN , 5-7, Scottsburg, Union
Although undersized, Meredith does a ton with what she’s got. High and accurate hands to run an offense, excellent defensively for her position in this class, and an overwhelming desire to play with a chip on her shoulder. She’s relentless, and will pursue a bad pass all day to make a ball better for her hitters.
Renee Greving Renee Greving 6'1" | S Huntington North | 2024 State IN , 6-1, Huntington North, Summit
Anyone need a tall setter who makes this game look easy? Look no further than Renee. She can attack too, and at that size, I would too. She can get passes that are too tight for the shorter setters, and already runs a fast offense that will be needed at the next level. For now, we can anticipate that her combination of size, smarts and skills will transition well to the college game.
Varya Rahoizha Varya Rahoizha 5'11" | S Andrean | 2024 State IN , 5-11, Andrean, KeAloha
Another northern Indiana product, Varya knows nothing except winning, as evidenced by her high school program. She, like Renee above, can get to balls most other setters can’t, PLUS she defends her position well for this class. She locates the ball well, keeps her hands high and deceptive, and has that athletic volleyball IQ that you just can’t teach.
Amanda Evers Amanda Evers 6'0" | S Zionsville | 2024 State IN , 6-0, Zionsville, Team Indiana
Speaking of a big setter that can do a little of everything, Amanda has been starting at Zionsville for a few years now, and looks to capitalize on her athleticism finally catching up with her skill set. I like her coachable attitude, her work ethic, and her open-level play that she’s been a part of for years at TI.
Emma Leavitt Emma Leavitt 5'8" | S Center Grove | 2024 State IN , 5-8, Center Grove, Academy
Undersized and under appreciated, this no-nonsense setter does nothing but work hard with a relentless attitude. She can be part of a 6-2 or a 5-1, depending on your needs—in her playing career, she’s already done both. Her defensive skill set is above average for her position, and she can locate sets with the best of them.
