Next up: <strong><em>AVC CLE 17 Red</em></strong>.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With a 5th place finish and a trickle-down opportunity at the Windy City Qualifier in April, this team secured their spot in the 17 Open division at the upcoming USAV GJNC. With their next tournament at the upcoming Summerfest event in Columbus, they have good depth around the court that features some of the greater Cleveland area's top athletes including the following:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='169128' first='Hannah' last='Pattie']</strong><br>The floor leader and setter for this team, Pattie is one of the best at this position in Ohio in the 2024 class. She has experienced great success at the high school level and joined AVC this season which has undoubtedly elevated their level of play. She is athletic and consistent with the ability to distribute a varied attack that takes advantage of their depth of arms. She is committed to Campbell.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='114595' first='Julia' last='Sprecher']</strong><br>Committed to LSU for beach volleyball, Sprecher is a solid athlete that can contribute in various phases of the game. Her arm can be lethal as she elevates well and can swing with good pace and movement from both pins and out of the back row. She is a primary option for this team and is capable of scoring through a focused workload.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='139300' first='Alexa' last='Strandberg']</strong><br>The biggest contact point on this team belongs to Strandberg and she utilizes her great length well and can get on the ball to challenge the high hands of the block or simply go over them. She has an aggressive swing and can generate good power that is tough to defend. She will be headed to South Alabama.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Avery Anders</strong><br>Anders has great skills as the libero for this team. The Bowling Green State commit performs with good read and reaction of the ball coming off the opponent's arm. Her footwork is intentional and helps keep her on balance and on her feet upon contact in serve receive. Defensively, she is patient and responds with good first step quickness. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='114591' first='Emily' last='Ragon']</strong><br>The 5'11 middle has good footwork and can create momentum build that helps develop good opportunities for her arm to swing through space and with aggressive contact. She is effective in the quick options in front of the setter and can be dynamic through a tempo overhead option with good drive and arm work. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='139302' first='Sydney' last='Waller']</strong><br>Committed to Samford, Waller is 6'2 and provides a big presence on the right pin. She contributes well on both sides of the ball with her length. She puts up a big block that can apply a lot of pressure to opposing hitters. Offensively, she helps balance the floor offensively for them as she can get on top of the ball well, especially with their tempo that can create space in the defensive block.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='198487' first='Natalie' last='Robinson']</strong><br>At 6'3, Robinson continues to develop into a dynamic middle on this team with the quality of her progress throughout the club season. The Rutgers commit has good athleticism and is mobile in her transition work and in closing down hitters at both pins when blocking. Her length helps create good contact point when she is on time and balance.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='169100' first='Emma' last='McCartney']</strong> (*pictured)<br>McCartney has a dynamic quality to her game as a left side hitter. At 6'0, she is accustomed to high volume work as she has terminated a lot for her high school team over her career. She opens well to the ball in the air which allows her to hit with range and put a good amount of heat on the ball upon contact.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
