This week, L2 Volleyball will be doing just that with the L2 Pre-Nationals from the Legacy Center Sports Complex in Brighton.
“I have heard and listened to the hardships of the parents over the years of what they’re paying, and where they’re traveling. We’ve got this beautiful facility here locally, and all we do is leave the state of Michigan,” Lindstrom said. “We would love to see this event continue to expand. We’re really trying to connect with the other clubs in the area. We’re excited to just be able to host something that is a little higher level. It really is not a selfish thing, it’s just more of having a world class facility in in an area that’s close for everyone, so why not prove we can have good club volleyball events here in Michigan.”
The event will feature six different divisions that encompass ages 12-18 and will be held on Saturday and Sunday.
Along with many of L2’s top squads other clubs on hand include Arsenal Volleyball Club, Athlete Headquarters, Crank It VBC, East Coast Power Allegheny, NorthShore Volleyball, Redline Volleyball Club, Revolution/AMP, Twin Bridges Volleyball Club and Unified Volleyball.
L2 is hoping it can continue to build on its strong efforts this season, particularly with its 17s. There have been a few players from their 17 squads that have really raised their game in 2023.
171
Brooke Foucher Brooke Foucher 5'11" | MB Northville | 2024 MI , RS
A 6-foot hitter out of the Northville program, Foucher has been a workhorse for L2 this club season. She brings a lot of competitive fire to the court, which has been contagious for her team. Still a supportive player as well, Foucher just holds her play to a high standard and wants to be the spark plug for success. Foucher has picked up a few intricate details to her game to help her take another step forward as a player.
Karlie Vogelheim Karlie Vogelheim 5'11" | MB Brighton | 2024 State MI , MB
The 6-foot middle out of Brighton is a dynamic blocker that is relentless at the net with her offensive and defensive game. For a middle, Vogelheim has shown impressive serve receive skills. Her overall athleticism has allowed her to succeed anywhere on the floor and be a reliable piece to the 171 squad. She continues to have a high ceiling for success.

Kaitlyn Schram Kaitlyn Schram 5'9" | S Hartland | 2024 State MI , S
Schram is an athletic setter from the Hartland program that really has embraced a leadership role and pushes herself to be the best. Schram is a bit of an ironwoman on the court for not missing any points and being able to contribute in all phases of the game. She’s definitely the heartbeat of the 172 squad.
Abby Mainka Abby Mainka 5'11" | OH Brighton | 2024 State MI , OH
A 6-foot outside, Mainka has been playing six rotations and doing a lot of positive things this club season. The Brighton product started as a middle and made the move to the outside and seems to have found her calling. While Mainka has always had a powerful swing, she’s finding new ways to finish points while developing a consistent defensive game.
*Following the completion of the L2 Pre-Nationals, a boys volleyball clinic will be held from 3-6 p.m. at the Legacy Center Sports Complex.
