This past weekend was the OKRVA Regional Championships. Almost every age had a "bid" division and a "Club" division. Those competing in the BID division, were in search of finishing high enough to keep their season alive and grab an elusive national tournament bid. Some teams already earned their bid at a national qualifier earlier in the season. Therefore those teams tend to skip this tournament, such as, TPV 16-1, UPVBC 17 Elite, and Peak 15-1. We are going to take a look at some awesome players from the 14s division all the way to the 17s division this week. We will work our way up, starting with the youngest group first.

Top 8:

Gold Champion- UPVBC 16 Elite

2nd Place- OK Charge 16 National

3rd- UPVBC 16 Pink

4th- Rise 16-1

5th- Peak 16-2

6th- OK Charge 16 UA East

7th- OK Redline 16-1/ TPV 16-2

Players:

Jaiden Bingham- Right Side Hitter #13 for Peak 16-2. I was able to meet and speak with Jaiden. Not only is she a solid performer but has solid character too. Jaiden causes teams problems from the right side. Both in terms of her slowing down opposing team's outside hitters and her ability to score. Which makes both pins available and dangerous. She is able to put up a very disciplined block, which makes tooling her a difficult task. She also has a great cross court swing that forces setters to be ready to dig. Jaiden will go onto to do big things in her career.

[player_tooltip player_id='212411' first='Camryn' last='Childers']- Outside Hitter #14 for OK Charge 16 National. Camryn has a very mature approach. It almost looks effortless on how quick she gets off the ground and in the air. She absolutely annihilated a ball down the line in the championship match. Further demonstrating her ability to score in a variety of ways and the whole court is an option for her. Camryn got to learn behind two solid outsides in [player_tooltip player_id='145993' first='Sara' last='Freeman'] and [player_tooltip player_id='212408' first='Addison' last='Worley']. Both posses great skill and leadership, we will likely see the same transfer to Camryn.

[player_tooltip player_id='212435' first='Chesnie' last='Caudill']- Outside Hitter #1 for Rise 16-1. Chesnie caused teams problems last club season, immediately became an impact player for Piedmont, helped them to a state playoff appearance and now back to helping her club team fight their way into a chance at a national bid. Her ability to score from the back row and cause issues even in out of system situations, make her a nightmare for opposing coaches. If Piedmont stays in 5A, she will for sure help them make another run to state.

Wrap Up:

We had an amazing club season here in Oklahoma. We qualified 23 girls indoor teams from ages 14 through 18. That list will be available on OKRVA website, as well as, what tournament they earned it at. Those headed to nationals- Congrats, safe travels and we know you will represent us well. To those whos season came to a close- Great job this year! We all have taken strides forward and had many laughs along the way.
