Summerfest Preview: 17 Open OVR Teams

She is a 5'5 right side hitter that plays much bigger than her size. As she passes well in serve receive, it is her athleticism and big elevation that leads to her creating solid contact in the air to score just as well as any attacker with more length. <strong>Hope Donnelly</strong> is a 6'2 middle committed to Grove City College. She is effective on the offensive side with good spacing and a high elbow attack. <strong>Olivia Beldean</strong> is a 5'11 setter that can run the show through all six rotations. Her size is a big asset at the net as she can put up a solid block as well as take good swings with the opportunity arises. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>EliteVBTC 17 Black</em></strong><br>As a lot of this offense and net play centers around the size and skills of <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='139280' first='Alec' last='Rothe']</strong> (Florida) and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='152118' first='Olivia' last='Heitkamp']</strong> (Toledo), there are some others that can contribute well and when they are involved this team becomes more dangerous. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='114581' first='Gabby' last='Jones'] </strong>has great presence at the net, specifically on the right side with her lift off the floor, strong hand penetration when blocking, and natural pace and power she can put on the ball when hitting. The 6'0 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='169113' first='Soraya' last='Jackson']</strong> is just as athletic and talented with her elevation and fast arm, which she utilizes well to move the ball around with good heat.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>NOVA 17 Navy</em></strong><br><strong>Layne Graffice </strong>is the go-to for this squad as she can be terminal with her arm when her team needs a kill. She is one of the top pin hitters in northern Ohio with the accolades and numbers to back it up. She is fundamentally sound and provides a very stable and reliable floor presence for her team. <strong>McKenna Weber</strong> has some of the best tools on this team as an offensive threat. She moves through her approach patterns fluidly with good momentum build and lift. She creates good balance in the air and has arm control to be able to swing the full range of the floor. She also can pass effectively to initiate their offense. <strong>Afton Roby </strong>is a 5'11 middle that works hard to create her opportunities on offense. She gets off the net with good intent to find the ball and make herself available, which includes good awareness to make the right play at the net with her arm when set. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
