Here is a report on five athletes who were among blocking leaders at 4A schools during the 2022 season. Each one is heading into their senior season and is a member of the Class of 2024.
Aleah Moree, 6’0”, MH, Winfield
Moree finished her junior season with 54 total blocks. She is an experienced athlete who has seen varsity action since her freshman season and she has racked up a total of 156 total blocks in three high school seasons. The Winfield prospect has a huge reach and she used it to her advantage. Moree can also finish off attacks as she has 301 kills over her three years of high school action.
Alyssa Reichard Alyssa Reichard 5'10" | OH Baldwin | 2024 State KS , 5”10”, OH, Baldwin
Reichard finished the 2022 season with 50 total blocks. She also finished her junior season with 186 kills. Reichard has really long arms and good hands. She also likes to make blocks on the basketball court for the Baldwin Bulldogs.
Allison Clevenger, 5’10”, MB, Clearwater
Clevenger finished the 2022 season with 50 total blocks to go along with 42 kills. Clevenger has a solid approach and a big reach. Clevenger is a leader on the floor for the Clearwater Indians. She is a physical athlete, and projects as a front-row-only player.
Mia Fox Mia Fox 6'2" | MB Circle | 2024 State KS , 6’1”, MH, Circle
Fox finished her junior season with 42 total blocks. Fox is a jumper and can crush a volleyball. She also added 78 kills for Circle during the 2022 season. She plays club ball with Shockwave. Of the players in this report, she arguably has the highest ceiling. She projects as a Division II through JUCO prospect.
Hannah Schmitz Hannah Schmitz 6'0" | MB Hayden | 2024 State KS , 6’0”, MH, Hayden
Schmitz finished her junior campaign with 39 total blocks and 59 kills. Schmitz is a “Go-Go Gadget Legs” and can really get above the net. She has solid blocking technique and projects as a front-row-only player. Schmitz also plays soccer for Hayden and could get recruiting looks in that sport as well.
