Continue ReadingWe are a month away from the culmination of the club season…USA Jr Nationals, which will be held in Chicago at the end of June and early July. Prep Dig has once again renewed our partnership with USA Volleyball to run the Pre-Tournament Showcase the day before the tourney starts. It will be held at the McCormick Place Convention Center where the tourney is being held. We are going to be previewing some of the players who have signed up to participate. The one aspect that sets our showcases apart from every other one in the country is how we offer coverage, before, during, and after it is completed. Without further ado, here are a few players who you should be watching at the showcase.
Katelyn Pritchard Katelyn Pritchard 5'11" | S McAllen | 2026 State TX [2026] 5-11 Setter (HS: McAllen/Club: Texas Fierce Elite/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Katelyn is currently ranked as the 56th best overall prospect and 11th best setter in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays for McAllen High School and also plays club for Texas Fierce Elite. I recently wrote an article on her and here is just a bit from the article, “As a setter, Katelyn can flat out dish the rock with the best of them. She uses every muscle in her body to track the ball down and be in a fantastic position to contact the ball. Her form and technique is exquisite at such a young age and that is because of her attention to detail with her private lessons. Not many young players have such a hard work ethic to be better each day, but Miss Pritchard is built different. There is not much to dislike with her game at all. Her out of system sets to the right side are beautiful as they are pinpoint accurate. She truly looks like a sniper on the court as she delivers the ball to each of her hitters. Oh did I mention that she can attack at a high level also? Well, she can. Her arm swing is super quick as she can light up a defense in a hurry.” We are very happy to have her at another one of our showcases and think she could be named one of the best setters by the end of it. Her drive to better herself and do whatever it takes to win and put her teammates in the best position to win is what sets her apart from the rest of the pack. If you have not seen her in action yet, grab some popcorn and take some great notes as she is special. Her star is definitely on the rise and you don’t want to miss out.
Ava Groeteke [2026] 6-1 Middle (HS: Dowling Catholic/Club: Club Ignite Select/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Ava is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Iowa State Rankings, but is on our official Watch List and should have no problem making the Rankings list when it released. She plays volleyball at Dowling Catholic High School and also for Club Ignite Select. Miss Groeteke can cover some serious ground with her long legs while patrolling at the net. Her long frame and long arms also take up tons of space vertically while blocking. I love how she has her legs locked and loaded in order to drive up and seal the net away from would-be attackers. She presses well and times the block at an elite level. While transitioning to attack, Ava shows great ability to stop on a dime and push off well in order to drive toward her setter for a quick set. As an attacker, Ava also has tremendous power in order to be a true scoring threat for her squad. I cannot wait to see her go against other top middles in the showcase as I think she will do well based on what I see from her skill set.
Tewa Woodson Tewa Woodson 5'10" | OH Oak Park And River Forest | 2025 State IL [2025] 5-9 Outside (HS: Oak Park and River Forest/Club: Adversity ‘ last=”]’ last=”]/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Tewa is currently ranked as the 41st best overall prospect in the 2025 class according to our Prep Dig Illinois State Rankings. She plays volleyball at Oak Park and River Forest High School and club for Adversity ‘ last=”]’ last=”]. Miss Woodson is one of those players who plays with no fear and loves to swing with power to get a momentum-changing kill. She is blessed with a gifted right arm and lets it loose on anyone who gets in her way. Tewa drops her shoulders while running her high tempo approach in order to create momentum and jump as high as she possible can. This young fire-baller is a solid athlete who will showcase very well for all of the scouts in attendance. All around the court you can see just how powerful and dynamic she is while playing the sport she truly loves. Her ball control out of the back row is top notch and the just gives whatever team she is on an added attacker out of the back row. We cannot wait to see her in action in person.
