Elevation ‘ last=”] 15 Toms swept their competition to a perfect record all weekend, landing atop the podium. Emma Cadell is a primary setter for this squad. She develops good high hand contact with touch and extension that can deliver the full range of the court with good tempo and location. Valerie Umnov is their best middle factor at 5’11 and with good effort to get herself available as an offensive option in both serve receive and transition. She swings with a high elbow and can score through multiple locations. She has good potential to become a bigger factor as she becomes more fluid and increases her foot speed. Outside hitter Kate Lavin is a solid option for this offense as she utilizes her arm well at the top of her jump. Valerie Diaz-Betancur contributes well through six rotations as she has good platform skills in the serve receive game to add to the point scoring support as a left side pin attacker. Another OVR team, Mintonette m.53, earned the silver medal in this division.
15 Premier
Mintonette m.52 took the gold medal with a 6-0 record and only dropping one set. Makiaya Turner Makiaya Turner 5'11" | OH Pickerington North | 2026 State OH is a standout prospect for this squad as she is athletic and explosive off the floor. Her potential to be a big impact on the pin is huge as she has the physical tools to jump high and hit hard.
Tri-State Elite 15 White earned the silver medal here with their only loss coming in the finals to Mintonette. Keep and eye on Taylor Deurmit as she progresses through her prep career. The 5’10 opposite is poised to be one of the next best lefties in the greater Cincy area. She uses her arm well in the air to move the ball around the challenge the defense.
16 Club
OPVC 16 Nixon had an unbeaten match record at 6-0 to to win Summerfest in this division. Ella Heiden is a 5’8 middle and utilizes her physical tools well as she creates good movement and momentum as she approaches to swing. She has a nice arm and with good space can move the ball around well through the opponent’s court. Mintonette m.63 finished second in this division with their only loss in the finals.
16 Premier
This division saw an OVR sweep on the podium as Tri State Elite 16 White earned the gold medal with a 7-0 record. Keira Hans has big factor potential as a 5’11 attacker with versatility to swing in the middle and at the pins. The 6’0 Samantha Stoneking has good presence in the middle as she has some of the best length on this team and works efficiently to get herself avaiable offensively in transition.
EVC 16.1 N took the silver medal as their only loss came in the championship match dropping a 15-9 third set. This team has been featured before as they are led by the savvy setting distribution of Ella Jackson Ella Jackson 5'7" | S Gilmour Academy | 2025 State OH , a big factor for any team that she leads with her offensive direction. Elsa Nard Elsa Nard 5'8" | OH Hathaway Brown | 2025 State OH , Kelsie Thompson Kelsie Thompson 5'10" | OH Gilmour Academy | 2025 State OH , Olivia Myers, and Sofia Smotek Sofia Smotek 5'8" | OH Independence | 2025 State OH handle a lot of the point scoring at the pins, as Sophie Jurcevic Sophie Jurcevic 5'8" | OH NDCL | 2025 State OH is a key element to their defense and ball control in serve receive.
The bronze medalist was Mintonette m.62. Viola Syverson Viola Syverson 6'4" | RS Upper Arlington | 2025 State OH is a big presence in the middle at 6’3 and continues to improve the quality of her contributions on both sides of the ball. She has great length and uses her arm well in the air when on time and with good spacing. She can hit with a high elbow and has physical tools for an elevated touch point that is tough to defend upon contact.
