We were super excited to run our first session of the USA GJNC Pre Tourney Showcase in conjunction with the USA Junior Nationals Tournament on Tuesday June 27th. We had some of the best players from all over the country attend from the 13’s through 15’s age groups. Many players stood out to our court coaches and scouts throughout the entire showcase for a variety of reasons. Some players stood out for their dynamic physical skills and some stood out for intangibles like leadership, effort and attitude. Let’s meet a few of the players who earned the honor of Top Performer at the showcase.
Riley Schmitz [2026] 5-3 Libero (HS: Fox Valley Lutheran/Club: FC Elite/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Riley is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays for Fox Valley Lutheran and also club for the FC Elite volleyball program. Miss Schmitz showed some unmatched energy throughout the entire two-hour showcase. Her play out of the left back zone can be categorized as amazing for many reasons. Being low to the ground helped Riley keep many balls off of the ground during both the scrimmage portion of the showcase and also the individual positional drills. Her propensity to dive and sprawl all around the court was infectious as her team cheered her on and followed suit with a relentless pursuit of the ball. She was definitely the catalyst numerous times to starting some big energy on her court due to her amazing defensive effort.
Sydney Clark Sydney Clark 5'8" | DS/L Keller | 2025 State TX [2025] 5-8 Outside/Libero (HS: Keller/Club: Arete/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Sydney is an unranked prospect in the 2025 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but continues to wow us and we will add her to our watch list with what we have seen this season. She plays at Keller High School and also plays for the Arete club program. Miss Clark was so much fun to watch during the showcase because of how versatile proved to be. Currently she is a six rotation outside hitter for her club team and boy can she score at a high level. For the future she will likely transition to a libero role. During the scrimmage portion, both skill sets were on full display for all of our scouts and court coaches to see. She has some amazing power in both her lower and upper body that help propel her around the court to pursue the ball. I love how balanced her footwork is while she is moving to the ball and also during contact with her platform. She is definitely someone who we have seen before and will continue to keep our eye on as we think she has a very high ceiling to improve. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award from our showcase.
Cheyenne Canche Cheyenne Canche 5'7" | DS/L John M. Harlan | 2026 State TX [2026] 5-6 Libero (HS: Harlan/Club: Alamo/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Cheyenne is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays at Harlan High School and also for the famed Alamo club program. Miss Canche was brilliant out of the back row throughout the entire showcase. What I truly loved was her ability to dig balls well outside of her normal reach. She creates some amazing angles with her platform, which allow the ball to go perfectly toward her target. She keeps her arms pretty quiet during contact and this helps the ball to come off very softly and also very consistently. Chey is not scared to get on the floor if need be and saved a ton of balls from hitting the floor near her zone. We are very excited to be introduced to her play and with what we saw at the showcase we will be putting her on our watch list and think you should also. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award from our showcase.
