As a scout, I truly enjoyed seeing 2027s in a series of positional drills and gameplay. There were a lot of new faces and it was a great showcase to get under their belts without worrying about standing out next to the upperclassmen. Here are a few that did not hesitate to make a statement.

Kaylea Armstrong Kaylea Armstrong 5'8" | OH Lincoln Way West | 2027 IL
Armstrong first caught my eye with her wasting no time in warm-ups or as soon as they started with positionals she was taking big swings. She took an aggressive approach with solid footwork and went after it. Armstrong had a nice high reach, solid jump, and fast armswing.
Taylor Berg Taylor Berg 5'9" | OH Marist | 2027 IL

Berg knows how to take a big aggressive swing on the ball. I could see her being one of those players that has no fear of getting the ball in the big moments. Berg is consistent with the ability to accelerate the play with kill that changes the momentum. She’s got a lot of power to use and so far, she is doing great!
I loved Hoeft’s energy and ability to laugh at herself when I play doesn’t go as expected. Volleyball is a game of chaos and you really have to have a sense of humor. Hoeft is powerful and can move the ball from pin to pin with ease. She is accurate and give attackers a lot of options. Hoeft is efficient, moves to the ball with no fear and I really like her style of play.

This middle can pack a serious punch. When I think of young middles I get the stereotypical long lanky thin players in my head but Kelenic is strong and solid. She has a mature build and mind because she makes some really smart choices. Kelenic knows just when to keep the ball in play and when to blast full throttle. She has a great ability to control the speed of her swing and play in general. Kelenic will be a huge asset at the next level.
Morgan Kopischke Morgan Kopischke 5'5" | DS/L New Berlin West | 2027 WI

Kopischke could have been the best serve receive in the gym. She was impressive with her back court skills. Kopischke would read the ball well, communicate, and had great awareness on the court.
Lauren Nethery Lauren Nethery 5'8" | OH Sussex Hamilton | 2027 WI
Lauren Nethery Lauren Nethery 5'8" | OH Sussex Hamilton | 2027 WI
Nethery takes a huge rip on the ball and wastes no time making sure everyone paid attention. She’s got a great vertical and nice court vision. Nethery is selective about where she is going ot place her ball but she does a great job working around the block to find the openings.
Lucy Ripley Lucy Ripley 6'1" | MB Oconto Falls | 2027 WI

Ripley was dominant at the net during middle drills. She was consistently fast and explosive on both sides of the ball. Ripley clearly puts a lot of effort into every single play and isn’t afraid to hustle. She really dedicates a lot to every moment she has on the court.
