The class of 2027 has not even started high school yet, but they are already making an impact within their volleyball programs. These athletes have a ton of potential, and it was so fun to have an opportunity to see them play before they even get to tryouts. Here are some very talented athletes in the class of 2027 who competed in the JV Sizzle.

Lucy Ripley - Middle Hitter - Oconto Falls

Lucy caught my eye early on in the tournament. She was dynamic and had all the workings of a great middle. Lucy manufactured points out of the middle and has huge power and a lightning-fast arm swing. She competed at a high level from the very first point and never slowed down.

McKenna Vogt - Libero - Pewaukee

McKenna has a clean platform and great form. She goes after every ball that comes her way and is very scrappy. She is the type of athlete who would run through a wall to keep the ball alive. Her discipline in coverage kept some tough balls alive. McKenna is already very talented and will only continue to impress.

[player_tooltip player_id='510442' first='Avery' last='Dornfelt'] - Outside Hitter - Hartford

Avery was solid in every aspect of her game. From her first contact to terminating on offense, Avery plays a great game of volleyball. She can manufacture points off of both in and out of system sets. Avery sees the court well and uses that to pick up great balls on defense and find open court for her swings.

Olivia Sabel - Libero - Plymouth

Olivia is super quick. She is scrappy and gets a touch on everything. She covers a lot of court when she is on defense and in coverage. Her fundamentals are sound, and she consistently gets her feet to the ball. Olivia was impressive to watch and caught my eye throughout the tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='486716' first='Hazel' last='Kapila'] - Setter - Appleton East

Hazel has a quick touch on the ball. She hustled for every ball at the tournament and got her hands on some tough passes. Hazel improved throughout the tournament and was always ready for the next challenge. She was fun to watch and has a lot of potential.

Lia Rattray - Setter - Appleton North

Lia is another talented setter in the class of 2027. She has great form and works hard to spread her offense. She moves the ball from pin to pin and has a lot of potential. Her ball control was impressive, and she also played scrappy on defense. Lia was a dependable athlete on the court for North.

Olivia Schroder - Middle Hitter - Mosinee

This is an athlete I can't wait to watch over the next few years. She takes an explosive approach and jumps like she has springs on the bottom of her shoes. Her arm swing is quick, and she has high contact on the ball. Olivia really impressed me at the Sizzle.

[player_tooltip player_id='510447' first='Claire' last='Schleis'] - Setter - Luxemburg-Casco

Claire caught my eye for a few reasons. The first was her superb communication on the court. She was always talking and leading her team, which can be very hard to do. Second was her clean hands and smart choices. And third was her powerhouse lefty swing that she used to earn points when she was setting in the front row. She is a player to watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='510449' first='MJ' last='Olson'] - Middle Hitter - Luxemburg-Casco

It is not often that a middle is a go-to hitter on a team, but MJ absolutely is. She probably got the most hitting attempts of everyone on the team, and she utilized every single one to try to earn points. She was a huge energizer on the court and earned big kills to build momentum on her side.
