Continue ReadingUSA Jr Nationals, were be held in Chicago a few weeks ago and we were lucky enough to watch in person. Nationals is the ultimate test to the end of the season as it brings together all of the teams who have earned a bid to participate. These wonderful teams have proven themselves through a very long and grueling club season and will compete against other top notch teams who have earned the right to play in this prestigious tourney. We will be highlighting teams and individual players that showed up and showed out! Let’s take a look at a few teams and players.
Actyve 15 Black JD competed in the USA Division of USA Jr Nationals. They are from the Southern California Region and went 8-3 over the four days to earn a second place finish. They showed great resilience battling through the tough field to have a chance to play in the finals. Here are just a few of the names to know from their talented squad who played very well when I watched them in the championship match.
Ava McBride Ava McBride 6'1" | S Notre Dame Academy | 2026 State CA [2026] 6-0 Setter/Right Side (HS: Notre Dame Academy/Club: Actyve/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Ava is currently ranked as the 4th best overall prospect in the 2026 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays for Notre Dame Academy and plays club for the Actyve volleyball club program. Miss McBride is very well known by us at Prep Dig and we are very high on her potential to be a top recruit in a few years. What is astonishing is that she is super consistent and plays at a high level as both a setter and an attacker. From the right side, she takes a beautiful picturesque approach in which she uses an amazing up swing with her arms to get as high as she can with her vertical. As a blocker, she uses those long arms in a swing block technique that is very effective. Those long arms of hers are able to press over the net well and seal it away from would be point scorers. As an attacker, she is elite scoring points at will from the right side. What most won’t see right away is how she is able to read and talk to her teammates about where the attack is coming from on the opposing side. She uses fantastic court vision and her knowledge as a setter to read the play well before it happens. USA Volleyball selected her as an All Tournament award recipient and we could easily see why.
Anabelle Redaelli Anabelle Redaelli 5'9" | OH Palisades | 2026 State CA [2026] 5-9 Outside (HS: Palisades/Club: Actyve/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Anabelle is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings, but she is on my watch list. She plays at Palisades High School and also club for the amazing Actyve volleyball club program. Miss Redaelli was amazing being a solid threat to score on the left side opposite of Ava. They provide this team with a great one-two punch that spread the attack out. She rises up well and swings with authority to keep the defense honest. She is a great weapon to have for Actyve and they used her quite well en route to their awesome seond place finish. Please congratulate her on earning All Tournament honors from USA Volleyball.
Sidney Procter Johnston Sidney Procter Johnston 5'8" | S Windward | 2026 CA [2026] 5-8 Setter (Club: Actyve /Verbal: Uncommitted)
Sidney is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays for the Actyve volleyball club. Miss Johnson knows exactly what her coaches expect and who to target during crucial moments. She looked very comfortable executing the game plan when I watched during the championship match. The ball came out of her hands very smoothly and she moved it around to all of her hitters well. I liked her footwork and how she was able to use great posture to hide where she was going to go with the ball. We will be watching her play closely and you should also. She was able to earn All Tournament honors from USA Volleyball because of her play. Please help us congratulate her on the achievement.
