Hitters Who Slammed at the Indiana Freshman Showcase

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hitters are always a favorite of mine, seeing as how I watched hours and hours of hitters while my children were in high school. It takes a certain amount of bravado or belief in oneself to be a successful hitter, especially as a freshman. Let's talk about who impressed today at the showcase.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='443834' first='Katie' last='Brinkruff']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Brinkruff is a 5'6" outside hitter from Fishers High School. Brinkruff can jump and is very accurate in her shots over the net. She is a skilled defensive player as well and dug some balls up that were very difficult to get. She was talking a lot on the court and directing traffic with her other teammates. She seems like a very smart athlete.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='435859' first='Everly' last='Clark']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Clark is a 5'7" outside from Bloomington High School South. Clark impressed today with her performance blocking much taller hitters across the net while on the right side. She was digging up balls that she had hit, that were then blocked, and sending them back across the net. She is scrappy and smart. She is also very versatile and could potentially be a six-rotation outside. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Kennedy Haucke</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Haucke is a 5'10" outside hitter from McNicholas High School. Haucke is a fireball. She is a very strong and athletic hitter. She can blast through a block or tool around it. She is very smart about her opponents and what they are doing on their side of the court. She has a play for every situation and can make it hurt her opponents.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='435849' first='Alexis' last='Muegge']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Muegge is a 5'9" outside hitter from Greenfield Central High School. Muegge is a very quick athlete and can see the ball very well. She can tell where to put it while up in the air, making split-second decisions when it suits her. That is an invaluable skill for a hitter. She has great vision of the court and has a great swing. She can place the ball anywhere she wants to by blasting through a block or rolling it over one. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='435860' first='Evyn' last='Taylor']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Taylor is a 5'11" outside hitter from Brebeuf Preparatory High School. Taylor is impressive for her patience on the court. She can dink or hit with ease and seems to know just where to put the ball for a kill. That requires some vision and brain power. She is aggressive and smart on the court and prepared for anything that comes her way. She was impressive to see today at the showcase and I can't wait to see her development over time. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='411023' first='McKenna' last='Yadon']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Yadon is a 5'9" outside hitter from Benton Central Jr/Sr High School. Yadon is smart and athletic. She is a great jumper and blocker. She can play anywhere in the front row and really has powerful hits. She is a force on the court and keeps the court revved up.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
