One of the best things about every new season, what faces emerge?
We see it every season, an impact freshman or rookie off the bench steps onto the court and takes control. Who will that be in the freshman class? The class of 2027 is already shaping up to be a really fiery one.
Let’s take a look at five freshman who will make huge waves in 2023.

Caylin Lindsey – Hartland
This player is already making some serious noise for Hartland early on. Alongside senior

(Michigan Tech), Caylin Lindsey has been putting in the work and proving herself quite quickly. While slightly undersized, Lindsey utilizes a nice approach and a lot of spin on the ball to put it down.
Gabby LaVoie – Northville
There’s never not enough depth in the back court for this squad. Last year saw Northville with nearly 3 defenders capable of being a libero. Graduate one, and incomes another who could find herself in the libero jersey in her career. Gabby LaVoie is the lone freshman on this Northville team. A Division 1 Runner-Up a season ago, LaVoie adds some great depth to the court while being surrounded by some of the best in her position.
Jordyn Jones Jordyn Jones 5'7" | OH Richmond | 2027 MI – Richmond
Arguably, one of the highest flying freshman of fall. Jordyn Jones Jordyn Jones 5'7" | OH Richmond | 2027 MI has some SERIOUS bunnies. As a shorter attacker, standing tall at 5’7, this leaping ability comes up clutch for Jones. An explosive player through the ball, Jones packs a serious roundhouse punch on her swing that will do great wonders for Richmond this fall.
Demi McCoy – Detroit Country Day

Detroit Country Day has been bringing in some dandy attackers in the last several years. DemI McCoy looks to be one of those future shining stars. A real developing attacking talent, I am very impressed with some of the natural abilities McCoy brings to the court. A whip of an arm and a lot of athleticism, McCoy’s game, with a little refinement throughout the fall, could see some serious court time.
Addison Nostrandt Addison Nostrandt 5'4" | DS/L Birch Run | 2027 MI – Birch Run
Birch Run may have graduated one of the best to ever wear a Panther jersey in four year libero Kalliann Cook (Austin Peay). If anyone were to jump in and challenge that, it would be a player like Addison Nostrandt Addison Nostrandt 5'4" | DS/L Birch Run | 2027 MI . Nostrandt is a player that has spent several years not only around Cook in the Birch Run gym, but also in the club gym at Michigan Elite. I would not be surprised to see Nostrandt don the off-colored jersey this fall and take a few things learned from Cook throughout her prep career.
