We have been watching the 2025 class very closely throughout the entire club season. A lot of the analysis has come from watching these players in person and also by watching the amazing footage that has been uploaded to everyone’s recruiting profiles. We have been talking to a lot of coaches across the country and this class is littered with college prospects. The following players showed us all that they deserved to be added to the rankings due to their individual performances.
Aaliyah Smith Aaliyah Smith 6'0" | OH Ridge Point | 2025 State TX [2025] 6-0 Outside (HS: Ridge Point/Club: Houston Juniors /Verbal: Uncommitted)
Please officially welcome Miss Smith to the State Rankings. She is currently ranked as the 57th best overall prospect in the 2025 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays for Ridge Point High School and also for the Houston Juniors volleyball club. Miss Smith was voted by every scout in our state to be ranked and that says a lot when it is unanimous choice. As a pin attacker, she has the frame that will attract a lot of attention from college scouts. She truly knows how to use the length in her arms as she reaches very high and contacts the ball at the peak of her reach. This makes it very difficult for blockers to time her attack. We have seen her get on top of the ball to put it straight down. But what truly impresses me is when she moves her hand contact to the bottom third of the ball and hits “high, hard, and deep” to the corners. Her ceiling is very high to keep improving and she can for sure help a college roster in a few years. Stay tuned for more on her as we cover her progress. Please help us congratulate her on the honor of being listed amongst the state’s best players.
Megan Morello Megan Morello 5'5" | DS/L At John XX111 | 2025 State TX [2025] 5-5 Libero (HS: St. John/Club: Houston Skyline/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Please welcome Miss Morello to the prestigious State Rankings. She is currently ranked as the 73rd best overall prospect in the 2025 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays for St. John High School and also for the Houston Skyline volleyball club. As a libero you have to be super focused on the ball and make quick decisions on where to move on the court before they actually happen. Miss Morello is amazing at this particular skill. She uses some awesome court vision and keeps her eyes on the ball at all times. There is very little that can shake her from her task on the court. What I love about her movement and footwork is how she rarely has her heels touch the floor at any point of the match. This keeps her very fast at reactions to the ball as it sometimes takes some crazy directions in a split second. Her angles while digging and passing are super precise due to her keeping her platform away from her body and holding her pose during and after contact of the ball. Please help us congratulate her on earning a spot on our prestigious State Ranking List.
Laney Hennessee Laney Hennessee 6'0" | OH Wimberley | 2025 State TX [2025] 6-0 Outside (HS: Wimberley/Club: Austin Performance/ Verbal: Uncommitted)
Please welcome Miss Hennessee officially to the State Rankings. Laney is currently ranked as the 93rd best overall prospect in the 2025 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays for Wimberley High School and also for the Austin Performance volleyball club. I was lucky enough to watch her very closely in a club practice earlier this year and also during a few tournaments this season and she truly impressed me. Her raw power is very noticeable as she rises up and pounds the ball for kills at will. Blessed with a solid and strong frame, she can bring the pain on thunderous attacks from any location on the court. I love how she keeps her hands high at the net while blocking. This makes her very efficient as she doesn’t waste any time getting her hands above the net to seal it away. Her lower body is also very strong and it helps her to get off of the ground in a hurry whenever she needs to. Most players need to create a lot of momentum to touch high with their vertical, but Laney just uses strong muscles in her legs even during out of system plays. Please help us congratulate her on being named one of the best players in the state of Texas.
