5’7” Ava Boelter Ava Boelter 5'7" | DS/L Champlin Park | 2025 State MN is a Class of ‘25 defensive specialist and libero from Champlin Park and plays club for Synergy. She has a strong platform and can pass well from all angles of the floor. Boelter has a strong swing too, look for her to be an offensive threat from the back row! She also has a great float serve!
Class of ‘25 5’9” outside Victoria Ashland Victoria Ashland 5'9" | MB Totino Grace | 2025 State MN out of Totino Grace High School and plays club for Crossfire is a diamond in the rough type player. She has a big, strong serve that is difficult to handle. Ashland does a great job of setting up the block for her middles and causes chaos for pin hitters. She also loves to hit sharp angle.
Taylor Baures, a 5’5” Class of ‘26 outside hitter out of Cochrane/Fountain City and plays club for Tenacity. Her serving stood out to me right away as she was piling up aces on the court during a butterfly type wash drill. Her serve is a higher float, but has some funny backspin as passers start to receive it. That movement makes it hard for offenses to stay in system.
Class of ‘25 6’0” outside Elli Tufto Elli Tufto 6'0" | RS Prior Lake | 2025 State MN who plays club for Prior Lake and club for Northern Lights has a great swing and can jump. She does a great job of staying behind the ball and not overrunning her setter. She has a ton of power and can hit that back court line from crosscourt, or down the line from either pin. Tufto also has a great serve and can hit those deep corners when serving.
6’2” Kelly Rogge Kelly Rogge 6'2" | OH Champlin Park | 2025 MN out of Champlin Park High School and plays club for Synergy has a high ceiling. For her tall frame , she had great ball control and floor defense. She does a nice job hitting high hands and can also block well on the pins with her long levers. Keep an eye on this Class of 2025 athlete!
Class of 2025 Gretchen Volk Gretchen Volk 5'8" | DS/L Willmar | 2025 State MN a 5’8” defensive specialist and libero out of Willmar High School has spot on serve receive. She did an excellent job of keeping her team in system. Her platform is so good and passes everything. She also has nice hands to set balls out of system. Volk reads hitters well and has great floor defense. Keep her on your radar!
Keep an eye on Class of ‘27 5’11” lefty setter Ryah Cotton Ryah Cotton 6'0" | S Prior Lake | 2027 State MN out of Prior Lake High School and plays for Northern lights during club season is a great athlete and teammate. She has soft hands and can hammer the ball as well from the pin. She has great footwork at the setter position and gives lots of energy to her teammates. Cotton also has a great lefty jump float making it hard on opponents to pass.
5’5” defensive specialist and libero Kenna Hennessey Kenna Hennessey 5'5" | DS/L Becker | 2027 MN out of Becker High School and plays for MN Select for club plays way beyond her ‘27 graduating year. She has great talk and leadership on the floor. She is both assertive and aggressive on the floor as she dives for balls or passes on serve receive. She also has a great jump float serve that is tough to handle! Her court presence really stood out for her being young!
The Minnesota Stock Up Showcase was definitely not short of talent last Saturday! Keep following these athletes as they begin their fall school season and then gear up for club season!
