High School Preview: Bishop Alemany

When she is attacking, she is up in the air waiting with her arm loaded ready to strike. In that loaded position, she again prepares to have great range. That includes hitting mostly straight ahead or away from her body to zone five or a hard cross shot when hitting in front or behind the setter respectively. Filippoval also places a light tip just trickling over the block. She reached a height of the second white on the antenna. Additionally, her hard work gets her to close next to her pin blockers very well. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='706328' first='Alanah' last='Clemente']</strong> | 6'0" | 2025 | OPP/S | <br>A lefty, [player_tooltip player_id='706328' first='Alanah' last='Clemente'], gets attention from viewers as she clears a runway ahead of her to hit. Her long strides make for a slow to fast approach that can bring forward a lot of pace on a cross court hit. While she is in the air, Clemente drops her right shoulder slightly to assure her cross court winners. When the set goes inside, she will attack the bottom of the ball into blocker's arms. Just when the opponent thought they had seen it all, she will start setting. Her attacking continues with a devastating over on two turn and hit. Her sets are contacted close to her body leading to running a higher tempo offense.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='162779' first='Gabi' last='Polishuk']</strong> | 5'8" | 2024 | L/DS | <br>There is a calm, quiet presence with the feet of [player_tooltip player_id='162779' first='Gabi' last='Polishuk'] when she is passing the ball. Her platform does the work to drive it up to target. Specifically, she contacts the ball just above the height of her knees at an angle pushing the ball up to the net. Yet, she moves her platform up during contact that pulls the ball back and high just enough to keep the ball on her side of the net. Additionally, she has a great shoulder shrug to absorb some of the pace of the ball. Polishuk is a deceptively quick player. When watching it is difficult to notice while it is happening, but she somehow gets where she needs to be.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Havyn Rolle </strong>| 5'10" | 2024 | MB/OPP | <br>An explosive player, like Havyn Rolle, is a game changer. If blockers are not one step ahead, the ball that Rolle hits will be past them before it is too late. Specifically, she has a very fast arm. Fortunately, for blockers, she covers a lot of space on the court during her approach. This can give blockers a chance to anticipate and get that one step ahead. She will adjust though, as there is a lot of agility in her game as well. When blocking, she touches a height of the third white on the antenna. Watch for her this season to see how much of her athletic potential she makes use of.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='162781' first='London' last='Wijay'] </strong>| 5'10" | 2024 | MB/OPP | <br>[player_tooltip player_id='162781' first='London' last='Wijay'] has a very high reach that is the signature to her game. Specifically, she brings her elbow through high and creates an imagery that she is swatting flys in those hard to reach places in the kitchen. Along with her high reach, she has a very technically sound approach. Specifically, her timing and distance covered on each step is in harmony with the game. Wijay is naturally a cross body attacker and she can match up strength versus strength against most, if not all, defenders. Specifically, her attack to deep zone one is incredibly difficult to prepare against. Additionally, she hits from all over the court.
