Adia McCown | 5’10” | 2024 | OH |
The long four step approach of Adia McCown is a strong foundation for her. As an approach is often described, she starts with small steps getting bigger and from slow to fast. She does this as well as anybody. Her armswing is up ready for a set and then she closes her hits out with a great whip motion. Additionally, she is usually a middle back or right back/middle back seam attacker. When passing, her platform is very close to being parallel to the court making for many high passes to the setter.
Kara Hsieh | 5’5″ | 2025 | DS/L |
Kara Hsieh is comfortable with all the angles she can make with her platform. When the ball is high, low, near, or far, Hsieh is taking it in stride. Additionally, she even has a slight hesitation with her lower body to be stopped on opponent contact. Her minimal foot movement is excellent to keep her balanced. Specifically, this allows her to react very well to unexpected hits that are high off the block or go low after hitting off the net. Continue to watch her as she builds strength.

, the simple movements of her platform are her greatest asset. Continue to watch her progress as the game speeds up and there is less time to make many complex moves. She keeps her arms very straight and follows through to her target every time. Many times this follow through is backward toward the endline to absorb a serve or hit. King contacts the ball high on her body which will force her to keep those legs involved.
Morgan Gillinger | 5″11″ | 2024 | OH/MB |
The short compact swing for Morgan Gillinger makes her an attacker that blockers have to immediately be aware of. She usually hits the balls right next to the setter but will occasionally hit a ball a little wider from the setter. That quick arm gets the ball past the line of defense quickly as it usually goes straight ahead of her. When blocking, she has active feet that find a win to get in front of the opposing middle. She reaches a height of the second white on the antenna.
Madison Deemer | 5’9″ | 2025 | OH |
When watching Madison Deemer hit a volleyball, a person can see early on where she generates her power. Her almost roundhouse like swing finds herself bringing her arm from a low position to wrap around and bring the heat. Amazingly with that motion she can hit a deep shot down the line without sacrificing a lot of height on her contact point. Additionally, she takes a long approach with big steps. When passing or digging, she faces her hitter and contacts the ball far away from her body.
