The Vikings are 3-0 to start the 2023 season, thanks in large part to the offensive dominance of Danzy. Averaging 5.0 k/s over their three starts this fall, she totaled 15 and 17 kills respectively in their back-to-back 3-0 sweeps. With 225 kills last fall over the course of her freshman season, Danzy opened the current schedule by setting a new career high with 18 total kills in a single match as Leipsic earned a 3-1 win over Otsego. With 37 digs on the season, she has also earned double digits defensively each match so far.
Addie Koontz – Olmsted Falls
Koontz, a sophomore libero, led the Bulldogs defensively as they completed the opening weekend with a 3-0 record. With 30 total digs, she was steady in the back row in all phases including serve receive. She reacts well to what she sees as she is quick and efficient with her footwork and develops good angles to get their offense into productive situations often. She also earned 10 aces over this span. As a freshman in 2022, she averaged 2.3 d/m in a reserve role.

With 18 kills in the Elk’s most recent 3-0 win, Wuebker is off to a hot start showcasing why she is one of the biggest point scoring arms in Ohio. The Ohio State commit is dynamic with her arm and very difficult to slow down given the heavy pace she can generate. Centerville is 3-0 early this season and poised to again claim another GWOC crown, especially if Wuebker can sustain her early-season efficiency. She is terminating at a 64% kill rate and overall efficiency of .552, which is outstanding for a pin hitter that sees the volume of work that she does.

The junior middle had a monster match earlier this week as she scored a career high 24 kills in Lakeview’s 3-0 win over Hubbard. Averaging 8.0 k/s in the win, Price terminated at a .774 efficiency as she had zero errors on 31 swings. The Bulldogs are 3-0 in 2023 and claimed their first Northeast 8 win of the season behind her huge effort. She is averaging a great line so far including a team leading 5.8 k/s, 5.7 d/m, and a team high 2.7 b/m. The all-district honoree in 2022 is on her way to her best varsity season so far.

With a 4.7 k/s average so far this season, Schlotterer is once again leading the the Truckers’ offense as they are off to a much better start than the 2022 season with a current 3-0 record. The junior outside hitter has 25 kills over their most recent two matches with 14 kills and a .355 efficiency in their latest 3-0 win over Edison. She also picked up a season high 11 digs for the double-double. The all-conference honoree has good arm control and can produce power while also using finesse for placement around the court.
