We round out our look at Class 6A players we think can make a jump in their play in 2023. The final group we will examine is the pins.

Lillie Luke - 2026 - Derby

Luke saw quite a bit of action in her first season for Derby. She played in 73 sets and contributed with 116 kills on the year. We expect her kill numbers to potentially double, along with more defensive opportunities and her dig numbers taking a big jump.

[player_tooltip player_id='222085' first='Julia' last='Anisimova'] - 2026 - Shawnee Mission Northwest

Shawnee Mission Northwest has been competitive the last few years and that should continue if Anisimova's play resembles what it did her first year. She played in 63 sets in as a freshman. In those sets, she reached triple digits in kills and digs with 109 and 191 respectively.

[player_tooltip player_id='357591' first='Gillian' last='Walton'] - 2026 - Shawnee Mission West

Staying in the Shawnee Mission school district and Sunflower league, Walton made most of her 52 sets as a newbie. She was just shy of 100 kills, with 94 in 308 attempts.

[player_tooltip player_id='222564' first='Brooklyn' last='Benoit'] - 2026 - Wichita Northwest

The 5'9" Benoit jumped right into the fray in her first season for Wichita Northwest. She tallied 183 digs defensively. It's her kill numbers we should see more of this fall and she should be up from the 90 from last fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='493491' first='Tori' last='Buss'] - 2025 - Wichita North

Buss had her first season of varsity ball last year and if it's a sign of things to come, look for her to breakout this fall. She only played in 54 sets but had 148 kills and 147 digs.

[player_tooltip player_id='173393' first='Caroline' last='Clayton'] - 2025 - Olathe Northwest

We already know what Clayton can do on the court after watching her in club action. It's high school action we expect to see an increase in numbers this year. With [player_tooltip player_id='119707' first='Skyler' last='Pierce'] expecting to miss some time with the USA U21 team, this is where Clayton can make some noise early in the season. She had 105 kills last year.

Paris Bond - 2024 - Liberal

We go out West to feature the senior Paris Bond. She had 92 kills as a junior, her first on the Liberal team. We should see a big jump in that category in her final year.
