<p>Some teams are holding tryouts while others began working on their offensive systems.</p>

<p>Prep Dig visited the gym at Topeka West High School and scouted potential Charger athletes as coach Alyx Nash was conducting her first day of tryouts.</p>

<p>Here is a look at a handful of prospects hoping to make the Topeka West varsity squad.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='338816' first='Addison' last='Brooks']</strong>, 5'10”, RS, ‘24</p>

<p>Brooks was an honorable mention all-league player during her junior season. She is long and smooth on the attack. She has one offer from an NAIA school and hopes to garner more recruiting attention with a solid senior season.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='495658' first='Siani' last='Sanchez']</strong>, 5'3”, L/DS, ‘24</p>

<p>Sanchez is a spunky libero who makes solid first passes. She also was an honorable mention league player as a junior. She needs to work on staying focused and she will be leaned on to be a leader for West in 2023.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='515485' first='Jaya' last='Miller']</strong>, 5'6”, S/RS, ‘24</p>

<p>Miller is returning from an injury-riddled junior season. As a sophomore, she was an honorable-mention all-league athlete. It could be her spot to lose as the starting setter. She has an offer from one NAIA program in her pocket.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='530342' first='Sydney' last='VanDyke']</strong>, 5'11”, MH/OH, ‘27</p>

<p>Keep both eyes on this freshman. VanDyke is just a Cheeto short of six-foot and is all arms and legs. She has a huge wing span and can jump. She is young and raw, but the tools and frame are there. It's up to her to hit the weight room to finish building the foundation. VanDyke has a very high ceiling.</p>
